LeBron talked more about social issues because he was encouraged to do so by Nike for the same reasons that Nike encouraged Jordan not to. The expectations of your customer base changed. There is a reason that Nike embraced Kaepernick but didn't embrace Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf. Jordan has been talking about social issues also now. It's all a creation to make yourself the most marketable. That doesn't mean that LeBron doesn't believe in most of the things he said but it's also a way to make more money and making the most money is clearly one of the main things that drives LeBron so he can own an NBA team at some point.

I should have put this in the first one so let me add some thing else.

Here is the number one reason we know that LeBron is just doing what makes him the most money.

He was a huge supporter of Kaepernick, which is understandable. He went after the NFL multiple times for how they treated him for kneeling. However, it is literally a suspendable offense in the NBA to kneel. Not a single NBA player kneeled outside of a one day exception granted by the commissioner. It is still a suspension to kneel in the NBA. The difference is likely that it wasn't going to cost him any money if the NFL suffered from a loss of fans from the kneeling but the NBA would have.

The only people that pay attention to the "politics" of athletes are people that really don't care much for athletes anyway.

That's definitely not true. A lot of people want their athletes to speak on issues now. That's why in the NBA two owners have been forced to sell because enough players said "Get this guy out".

Owners and players are 2 different entities. As a "Long Time" fan I have never cared if Athletes spoke out on social issues. In some cases its appreciated but it was hardly required.
LeBron James has been criticized more for the decision than he ever was for being "woke". The people that bash him for being "woke" likely never cared much for him anyway.

LeBron's fans give him a lot of credit for not being afraid to speak out about issues. It doesn't matter that you don't care.

Because it's a "world" that you yourself happened to have created in most cases. None of "LeBron's fans are less likely to "care" about him if he doesn't speak out on police brutality. Just as Jordan's legions of "fans" never turned on him because he neglected to speak on such issues.

You seem to agree that his fans give him credit for speaking on social issues. Now you are saying they don't care if he speaks on social issues. I can't respond when you are making two conflicting arguments.

If you.poll a group of who are generational taxpayers, non welfare, family history of police & military, never been arrested, don't condone rioters & looters, not pro-criminal, hard working, fun loving people the majority will say they don't like LeBron James.

You prefaced it by stating "Lebron Fans" gave him credit. Which validated my point regarding people that didn't already "care for Lebron". And for the record I have yet to hear of anyone who "cared" whether Lebron wore a T Shirt claiming "I am woke" or not. The only people that make a big deal (check this joint for instance) are those that don't like the guy or basketball players in general anyway.

Way to hit all the dog whistles. Too bad you’re too much of a coward to come out and directly say what you seem to mean.

I wonder how he would feel if we were to (stereotypically speaking) provide references to "other" types of crime and criminals in this country. Guarantee that MANY here would immediately start bitching and complaining about how "WE" hate "other" people.

LeBron is entitled to his opinions. Sometimes I think he's wrong. Sometimes I think he's right. But is there anyone who actually thinks he's a bad guy? Probably just jealous Jordan worshipers who can't stand that LeBron is the obvious GOAT.

Hes not the goat, JORR. I still think you have to go for Jordan based on his sheer willpower and ability to change and adapt his game as his body aged. Also, Jordan didn't go hunting for chalk like James did. That certainly leaves a bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

No they don't. You just don't have a response thus you retreated to your patented form of "dissenting" merely for the sake of "dissenting".

You are simultaneously arguing that LeBron's fans do care and LeBron's fans don't care about him speaking about social issues.

That makes LeBron even the GOATer GOAT. He had to act as his own GM. Jordan had the GOAT of GMs in Jerry Krause so all he had to do was show up and play. LeBron had to assemble his own teams. We know Jordan is completely incompetent at assembling a team.

We'll have to just agree to disagree if you actually think no one gives credit to LeBron for being brave enough to speak out on social issues.

I presume you are being snarky but…

Having had a prior long term stay near a couple of kid patients, it was really therapeutic to see the happiness both Make A Wish and the Ronald McDonald House brought.

Yeah the last couple years in LA show James is much better. Lol.
