Yeah. That's a tough break for the Bears.

Kyler Murray was the exact same height at the combine, only he was 3 pounds heavier at 207.

He seems like a perfect fit for Indy.

Meh, melodrama

There’s nothing shocking about Young’s measurements.. teams that already like him are going to still like him because of his film, they already knew about his size. Stroud was impressive when he tested and as I mentioned awhile back Richardson made some waves at the combine too.

There’s 4 QB’s that are 1st round grades with 3 of them basically holding that value for a while now. The Bears are still in the best position possible imo.. there’s going to be plenty of demand for the #1 pick from QB needy teams.

One thing that does give me pause tho -does Houston pull a fast one on the Bears and trade up to get Will Anderson then take their chances on a QB next year? Obviously if the Bears get their #1 next year then that is a moot point.. but the Texans could also just stay at 2 and take him if the Bears move back. I’ve been keeping an eye out for any videos/articles about who Houston has focused on spending time with at the combine.. it’s worth noting if Anderson is your guy

Bears 1 pick just more valuable today.

Always good to add a new QB into the top projections.

Richardson crushed it at the combine.

What Brick said. Insane athlete. Set records for QB there.

His odds to be the first overall went from +10000 to +300 today. He’s now the third gambler’s favorite.

Those are “good” measurements for young. Everybody knew how tall he was, there was a lot of worry he’d tip in at like 190-195.

He's just Fields without the college experience.

The Bears can offer teams their choice of qbs who can't throw.

I get a kick out of the human condition. Everybody loved that Trubinsky was a good, humble kid. Now, since he didn't work out, we mock it.

Think he is the guy that opens up the double or triple trade down possibilities. Could see a GM falling in love with him and wanting to move up to #4 if the trade down with Indy happens. The ideal scenario would be trading down to #2 w/Texans, then to #4 w/Colts, and finally trading back again from #4 to whoever offers you the best deal, this is of course highly unlikely, but it would get you several extra second/third round picks this year and likely an extra #1 and several other picks in the top three rounds next year.

I think the Bears end up drafting at #9 and #12.

1. Trade to #2 with Houston, pick up Houston's #12, a 3, and the option to swap 2024 2nd round picks if the Bears finish better than the Texans.

2. Trade from #2 to #4 with Indy, pick up a 2, a 3, and a 2024 1(maybe Buckner instead of the 3)

3. Trade from #4 to #9 with Carolina, pick up a 2 and a 4, a 2024 1, and the option to swap 2025 2s.

Net haul would be #9, #12, two 2s, a 3, a 4, two 2024 1s, and options for second round pick swaps in both 2024 and 2025. And the 3 from Houston would forever be known as the Lovie Smith Fuck You I'm not Going to Tank pick.

It would be great if something like this happens, but do not see Houston giving up #12 to move up one slot, you maybe get a second or third round pick, but still not sure if moving up one slot makes sense for Houston.

Can certainly see any of the other QB needy teams in the top half of the draft offering you numerous picks to move up and then Poles listening to offers to move down again if one of the QB's is still on the board.

The experts keep saying this is not a great, there is no clear cut top QB, and the defensive guys at the top all have question marks, so why not aquire a bunch of seconds/thirds and then an extra #1 next year.

The more lottery tickets you have, the more chance you have on hitting on guys that will be starters for you for the next 5 years, good organizations build via the draft, idiots like Pace waste draft capital which insures you will be at the bottom of the league for years.

I still like the scenario where we trade down so many times we make every pick in the 6th round of the 2024 NFL draft.

Because you could wind up with Michael Haynes and Rex Grossman instead of Terrell Suggs.

I’m all for trading back -but still remaining in a position to get a generational talent (like Anderson).. I’m especially for all this when the Bears are in perfect position to acquire really good future assets (like future 1st round pinks and current 2nd round picks) while remaining in a prime position to select a game changer.

You keep trading back and acquiring more picks further back all you’re doing is guaranteeing more swings at a larger pool of less talented prospects over a smaller pool of more talented prospects. This is a year where the Bears can have their cake and eat it too if they’re savvy enough.

It wouldn't be at all realistic except that all three teams have idiot owners.

I have a hard time seeing Houston giving up the 12 as well to move up 1 spot.

But if the QB market heats up and everyone wants that 1 pick then you pretty much tell Houston we get the 12 or we move on to one of the other teams who want that pick.

2 picks in this years 1st and an extra pick in next years 1st and this will have been a great situation.

I agree. Houston needs to fall in love with someone, though. Their love has to match that of teams below them.

Colts pretty much boxed themselves into drafting a QB this go 'round. I think if anyone move up it'll be them.

That's exactly what he is and worse stats than Fields. But if some team falls in love with him, I won't care. As long as it isn't the Bears.

As an aside, I saw an article a few days ago that David Fales was just inducted into his High School Hall of Fame. I knew it the whole time. You guys doubted me.

Who was that big QB from South Alabama with the huge arm and pro body who couldn't hit the broad side of a barn from a few years ago?
