Brick how about we go for round 3 of IU and Purdue in the big 10 tournament championship?

I hope Purdue loses on Saturday but if that happens you might as well get another win.

this will be the year for more non legacy teams/conferences to make noise in the tournament

look for senior/graduate heavy teams with good points guards.

This Drake group has already won games in the past and the MVC has a good record in first round games

No real benefit and I'd rather not play 3 games in 3 days against teams playing for seeding in the NCAA tournament or to get in.

I have seen some brackets with Purdue as a 2 seed now. you think that is right or you think they get in as 1 still?

They'll either the be the last 1 seed or the top 2 seed. They should be the last 1 seed. UCLA has beaten like 4 teams that will make the tournament. Purdue has beaten something like 13. UCLA also likely lost one of their best players though they will probably lie and act like he can play.

Even the top 2 seed would be fine as they would play in Louisville against Alabama if they make it that far.

Yeah looking at some projections, being the top 2 seed wouldnt be too bad and be closer to home for them.

Things to avoid:
Kansas in Kansas City
Kentucky anywhere in the Midwest
UCONN in NYC

Otherwise, I don't really think it matters much. The Kentucky one really concerns me.

Yeah I have seen Kentucky listed as a 7 seed next to Purdue at the 2. That could be a real problem. I would not want to face Kentucky right now.

Alabama has been 0-4 against spreads since the murder situation. Look for them to be an upset victim maybe as early as round 2

Well I'll tune in this afternoon for the 3:30 tip and see how things go. I should know better than to have hope for this squad but for some reason I still see them winning today and maybe giving Kansas a game after they laid a huge egg in their conference tourney. Likely a bit too much orange and blue kool aid in my blood stream this morning.

I have no idea what this team will do. It wouldn't shock me if they lost by 25 today and it would only slightly surprise me if they put a six game run together and won the whole thing.

That is how I am feeling for the most part. I'd consider a win this afternoon as a step in the right direction. If I really had to guess, they likely get through today and then get hammered on Saturday and look like they didn't deserve an invite.

About 90% of the field is in the same spot. Could get hot snd get to final 4 or could get bumped in round 1

This year is confounding. I can't figure out what is going to happen.

I kind of think Purdue will have a hard time with F-D.

Agreed. No clue what will happen.

Purdue is all about their young guards. You know the big man will do his thing. If guards play well they can win it all. If not they could be done early

Brandon Newman about to become a national story. He's doing everything right now but hitting the 3s he is quite capable of hitting.

Valpo guards have a history of big things in the tourney

What’s the shelf life on a guy like Underwood?

I can’t stand his face and he seems like he’s a complete hardo. Do Illini fans want him around?

This is a very poorly coached group of players. Offensively this team had no idea what to do. That was sad.

He isn't going anywhere anytime soon. He made Illinois relevant again. Plus he has a few getters as assistant coaches thus his talent will always be a tournament team. They should have been better this year though. They have pretty good talent.
