Taysom Hill has made more money than Lamar Jackson. Hill has been in a league for 6 years, and Jackson has been there for 5 years.

Daniel Jones has a better agent.

Brock purdy signed a 4 year 3.7 million dollar contract and he's better than both. That's the way the ball bounces.

Don’t be ridiculous. He’s not even close to being in the same tier as LJ. Don’t let your disdain for the man cloud your judgement of the player.

I thought they were discussing 4 years at $40M per?

I don’t know what they are discussing, but if it ends with jones getting tagged because his agents persuaded him that his is a 40m+ a year QB, that’s a fail. If the giants decide to give that to him, that’s a win.

Purdy has more playoff wins, better pocket passer and better pocket presence..tougher too, Lamar wouldn't have came off the bench to finish that game.. I'll take Purdy.

The Purdy run was a lot of fun, but I have a hunch the party will come to a quick end next season.

Don't see that happening, you cant teach or coach pocket awareness and poise. He's got it.

I’m sure people who bet the Chiefs or the under were thrilled Purdy was “tough” enough to come back in too.

Crediting Purdy with the 9ers playoff success is like crediting (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky for the 2018 season. Purdy/(Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky were competent those years which allowed the true talent on those teams to see the results of their work.

https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2 ... rr-deal-2/

Quote:
Now with the Saints, here’s what Carr is due to receive, per a source with knowledge of the terms.

1. Signing bonus: $28.5 million.

2. 2023 base salary: $1.5 million, fully guaranteed.

3. 2024 base salary: $30 million, fully guaranteed.

4. 2025 compensation: $40 million, guaranteed for injury at signing. Of that amount, $10 million becomes fully guaranteed in 2024, and the remainder becomes fully guaranteed in 2025. (The payments are in the form of a 90-man offseason roster bonus in the amount of $10 million, and a $30 million base salary.)

5. 2026 base salary: $50 million, non-guaranteed.

So while it’s technically a four-year, $150 million deal, it’s at best a three-year, $100 million deal. The fourth year is a device aimed simply at driving the average from $33.3 million per year to $37.5 million — since he reportedly was looking for at least $35 million per year.

The contract could be as short as two years and $70 million, with the final $10 million being subject to offset in 2025.

At a minimum, Carr will make $60 million for one year. The only way to avoid owing $70 million over two would be to cut him after one season.

And while the deal includes a no-trade clause, no one would trade for that deal if Carr didn’t want to play for the team in question, with or without an official no-trade clause

Add that on top of the shitty Taysom Hill deal who is absolutely useless....fucking Saints

I should have become a below average NFL starting quarterback.

If he's not running and gashing defenses his value is pretty low in the pocket.

Yeah, terrible comp. In his first career playoff game as a rookie he threw for 335 yards and 3 tds..no picks and ran a TD in. Let me know when that chump wins a playoff game.

He's been fine as a passer, even though his TE is his only target.

System QB. Anyone can be successful in that SF system as long as they know how to get rid of the ball. Jimmy G was having success too.

Garopolo isn't a bum, he's in the Carr, Prescott grouping.. Mitch isn't capable of being a game manager he's a bum.

You're talking to the board's #1 Mitch hater. The point wasn't that Purdy is better or like (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky but that you arguably are inflating Purdy's value/talents by neglecting to account for the system and personnel he played in/with.

All I'm saying is he's a rookie who showed he has the intangibles that most high picks lack and never developed. I think Purdy will have a real nice career.

I think this is the Ravens best move.

Because if LJ was really healthy enough to play in the playoff, then that's going to be tough to come back from amongst his teamates.
