when any of his teams were good, it was because Dave Duncan ( even the 21 team !!) , when they were bad its because Tony sucks

'21 team was good? Somehow I missed that.

The '21 team had a great first half. The team was decidedly mediocre post AS Break 2021. Even if it was the proverbial re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic, Tony should have been fired in May/June last season.

It's like the longer Tony managed them the worse they got.

Lance Lynn had a nice outing for team USA the other day and Anderson got great complements from Mike Trout for his leadership and fire. HE also played 2nd base for Team USA and did well.

That's right. They have been an average team now since the all star break of 2021. As optimistic as I am that they can rebound, is it possible that this team is just an average club, especially with a schedule that will be tougher this season?

I'm 100% sure that has nothing to do with Tony Fucking LaRussa.

When the books gets written on the Sox rebuild should it fail, I have a feeling a lot of players are
gonna unload on what a distraction and cancer Jackie was to the team.

Says the guy who bitched about Tony LaRussa in season. What I don't get is the constant incompetency at the job. It's not that hard. Know your team, know it's strengths and weaknesses, keep the clubhouse in order. Why can't we find a guy to follow those simple guidelines?

It shouldn't be that difficult, but it it's been proven by many teams to be VERY difficult. Especially your point of "keep the clubhouse in order"
Then there's the whole getting guys to actually work on playing actual defense and not doing stupid shit on the basepaths.

Tony may not have been THE problem, but he wasn't the answer either. He was culpable just as his players were.

Only a simpleton or a lunatic would give Tony any sort of credit for 2021, then say he had nothing to do with the failures of last season.

Exactly. The manager is a cog in the system just like everyone else. When you are a weak cog, the system gets weaker. How 'bout this for a bare minimal guideline? Don't throw games. Don't tell guys to not hustle. It's horrible culture.

Don't automatically give a guy first base on a 1-2 count. Definitely don't do that a second time.

Telling Latino and black players to hustle is hardass white old guy baseball, you know, the kind of baseball people were screaming that TLR would instill the moment he was hired. Gave them what they wanted now the townsfolk are mad .

I think LaRussa lost his feel for the game and the impact of Latin ball players. Clearly he allowed lack of hustle take place and when he did discipline players he screwed that up also. Unfortunately the so-called "leaders" of the team didn't challenge his ass. And I am talking about guys like ANderson, and Abreu. Instead it was left to hard asses like Lance Lynn to speak out but your leaders can't be pitchers. But I blame Reinny TOTALLY FOR THIS STUPID ASS DECISION. He brought in a drunken piece of shit old fossil who he should have known had no relevant knowledge about this modern game including managing pitching.

Watched them shut out the A's yesterday, a12-0 shutout. Cease looked very good. Moncada hhad two hit with home run hitting righthanded. Struggled left handed. There is a kid , Meises(?) who came in late in the game and impressed me with his swing. I'm going to follow him in the minors. I sure hope they replace Garcia with one of the kids. They have guys with promise all through the 40 man roster. They need a decent chance instead of grunts like Garcia.

They took away tailgating so they could sell it to you:

This is the worst organization in sports. I honestly may start rooting for the Tigers.

Tailgating is allowed in all lots, according to the do's and(mostly)DON'TS of tailgating section of the site.

 Yeah, with no tents or tables. I wouldn't call that tailgating. I'd call it standing in a parking lot.
