Tim Anderson has been playing well. And playing second base, I guess because the Phillies wouldn't let Trea Turner play there.

Or maybe because Turner is the better player?

What would make baseball even more fun is if there were judges in New York awarding runs for great bat flips and mound dances.

Turner spent several months playing 2B when he was traded to the Dodgers and they still had Corey Seager at SS.

Anderson has been good defensively at 2B so far, but you'd have to consider subbing for him defensively in the 8th or 9th inning of an elimination game if you are ahead.

 That wasn't a muff. It was a tough play on a fast runner.

How many Cubs are in this game? Why isn't Schwisdom starting? Does it play for Germany?

That play needed to be made.

Well this got to be a blow out early.

Rooting for Mexico tomorrow so the USA has a chance for revenge on Tuesday.

John Smoltz isn't hyper analyzing every pitch in the WBC like he does in the MLB games. He actually takes a few breaks from talking now.

Smoltz and the pbp guy shaming MLB players who don't want to participate in the WBC was uncomfortable to listen to. Almost calling the lack of pitchers pussies and anti American. That injuries could happen anytime.

Smoltz said one of the previous games was onr of the best games he's ever seen. A meaningless exhibition with random players is better than MLB World Series games?

I don't think it's meaningless. I kind of held the opinion you're expressing and didn't really give a shit about this tournament until Venezuela took the lead on Saturday and that silly pitcher did his St. Vitus dance. After that I was rooting for the U.S. like it was 1980 vs. the Russians.

Also, I knew that viewpoint was wrong once Olbermann made his idiotic tweet. That goof has never been right about anything. I'm pretty sure he didn't understand that his position is "anti-woke" or he wouldn't have said it. This thing may be a joke to U.S. fans but it's extremely important in the other parts of the world where baseball is important, i.e. Latin America and Japan.

And it has been exciting baseball. Why should I care about the "assets" of billionaires being damaged? These guys want to play, it's fine with me.

You want exciting baseball? This is it. The players are pumped. The fans are engaged. It has been tremendous. It warms my heart to see so many countries enjoy the sport I love.

It’s no game 136 of the regular reason when your team has been eliminated since the ASG.

Yoan Moncada is playing harder for Cuba than he ever played for Frank Coztansa and me.

With several of these teams, it is like an all star line up but with the players and managers actually trying to win.

Moncada getting hurt at some point in the Spring is essentially a yearly tradition. As the centerpiece of the Chris Sale deal, he may be on the Mt Rushmore for biggest busts in Chicago baseball history.

Better if happen now than during the regular season, where he’d collide with Eloy and they’d both be hurt.

Eloy isn't an athlete. He's some random dude that can hit a ball with a stick. Just keep him in the dugout until it's his turn to hit a ball with a stick and then hope he doesn't trip over himself on the bases.
