Wherever you decide to go to don't just take a leap of fait and move there on a whim... Travel to your potential destinations first on vacation for 2wks or so to get somewhat of an idea of living in these countries and if its really what you want to do long term. It could be a costly mistake if you feel these countries are not what you pictured in your mind if you just a take a leap of fait.

Works with tons of Filipino RN's and docs, they all try to bring their families here if they can and need to send tons of money back home. It's free, but the infrastructure is terrible, every medical professional that can comes here and stays.

Restaurant food is not good so I mostly buy in markets and eat at home. Except calamares, scallops and beef noodle soup that I love and can buy at cheap places.
Currently I pay exactly $1 for cold San Miguel Light beer at our local sidewalk beer place on the main tourist street here.

Visas are easy and now I'm on 6 month visas. Best for visas is Cambodia where you can get one year extensions after first month. Thailand no bueno. 30 days plus 15 extension and then you must leave and then come back.
Vietnam no more one year extensions. 30 days and out is new rules from Covid days.
Vietnam is cheapest and good cheap food. Cambodia is next but the only real beach place is Sihanoukville and black Chinese money has ruined the place and nearly all expats left. Many went to Kampot where it' s good cheap living but it's too hot as it's 15 miles inland on a river. Siam Reap very hot.

I pity the pipo living in Chicago. Well, any USA pipo not living in Florida really.

Every store and resto I go to here I can speak English and be understood. The official Lingo of the PI is Englsih. Forms are in English. Most signs on bidnesses are in English. No drive bys, no knockout game no car jacking, no wildings inna streets, no folks shitting in the street. No homeless crazies wandering the streets where I live. No sir. No real crime either.

The food and the infrastructure (bathroom facilities, Trash, and internet) in Philippines would be a deal breaker for me.. Cant eat variations on Pork dishes with no spices used everyday and very little access to salads which most in the west are used to. I believe you can get a Retirement Visa in most of those countries you mentioned including Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, etc.. Your conflating tourist visas with Retirement visas.
