It's a very strange story. Jill Biden put in the effort to go to the Women's Final Four, asked to meet both teams prior to the game, and at least LSU denied her because Joe Biden's bracket didn't include LSU making the Final Four, and now she is talking about Michelle Obama who probably didn't even know who was in the Women's Final Four as she tweeted about knitting instead of the results of the Women's Final Four on Monday.

It's interesting to see this play out though. I wonder if democratic strategists assign any weight to what we're seeing given that Reese and others are potentially gen z voters. Can they take this fallout as an early indicator of gen z minority attitudes toward the Biden and/or democrats. This has to be frustrating for Biden folks after what they see as genuine commitments to diversity, starting with adding Harris to the ticket itself. Perhaps it isn't registering with younger voters, LSU players certainly don't give a shit.

That entire practice is foolish on several fronts. I'm not even sure it is totally well-intentioned; as much as it is meant to level something or another, it's partially intended as a subtle FU from one group of Whites (the ones with power, and those who identify with them) to another group of Whites (the rest of 'em).
