I think he’d still get blown by many if he did it, but I can’t imagine a scenario where he thinks that’s a good idea. He already has a great running back.

I like Herbert, but I think a RB who has breakaway speed could be drafted before the 4th round. I just don't think the 9th pick is the way to go. These rumors may be out there to make the Eagles trade up.

Look at the bums that have started at running back on the last 5-6 Superbowl champions and then tell me why anyone should ever draft a running back in the first round

They have a running back with breakaway speed who has the ball in his hands every single play.

It sure looks like draft posturing at this point.

He has to pick a lineman in the first round.

would be great if a team feared the eagles are taking bijan at 10 and give us a decent draft day trade to get to our pick at 9

one of the radio shows seemed to think Poles is more of a draft the best guy person rather than a draft for need person. I get it because you might think in an oversimplified scenario that the RB available at #9- whom you don't necessarily need - projects as a perennial All-Pro while the OT/DL available at #9 projects as a solid but unspectacular starter. I guess that's one way I could see him drafting Robinson. Or he trades back because he doesn't want to overdraft the unspectacular starter and thinks he can get equal or better talent later in the first.

I totally agree.

He needs linemen far more than he needs a RB.

I'll go full Caller Bob if he drafts Robinson.

I’d rather have a top lineman but.. I’d still be excited about Robinson or Njigba if the Bears drafted them at 9.

And so would the rest of you once you saw them making plays for this team.

Robinson would be fun to watch.

Robinson is a perfect fit for what they need, if they didn't have glaring holes on both lines it would make sense, but Poles has almost locked himself into drafting offensive and defensive lineman in the first two rounds.

I don't think the Bears have enough talent at any position that we can dictate who should be taken with the first pick. If Caller Bob is the top player on his board with an all pro projection, he should take Caller Bob.

Caller Bob is only the best player available when the draft is for cum dumpsters.

Caller Bob's breakdown in the old Pro Football Weekly Draft Guide would have been an interesting read.

Thought you wanted the OT from Northwestern?

I'd be pretty surprised if Poles doesn't draft the Big tackle from Ohio State. And I can see them then trading up with their second round pick and grab the best DT or edge rusher on the board.

I think Jahmyr Gibbs is the best running back in the draft. I like Tank Bigsby a lot too.

I've been hearing talk lately that Broderick Jones is the best long-term prospect at LT in the draft.

His film makes me nervous.

He is a very strong guy, but he blocks high on defenders and is not a knee-bender.

Sometimes guys can learn to bend their knees and play with better leverage, and sometimes they can't.

I'm not sure which of these groups Jones will end up fitting into.

This could put Detroit back in the cornerback conversation at #6

The Bears are reportedly in talks with the Steelers about swapping 1st round picks.

The Steelers would have to give up a lot.

My guess would be, somewhere around swapping 1st rounders and moving up in the 2nd round with a swap of picks.

The Bears gave up 2 first round picks, a 4th, and a 5th to move the same distance for Fields.

Poles better not get fleeced again by the Steelers. I’d want next years 1st too from them or they can fuck right off.

I'm sure the Steelers will be more than happy to give Poles a first round pick in this deal.

Unfortunately, that first round pick is from 2017 rather than 2024, and his name is Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

Seems odd to plant this now, has Poles identified his Ryan Pace? That would seem to be giving Poles way too much credit, but it would take is having a QB that one of the GM's loves still be on the board, just need to find this years Ryan Pace and let the fleecing begin.

If it is the Steelers would you take picks #17, #32, and #49? That would give you six picks from #17 to #64, that would be interesting.

I’d consider that deal tbh.. but I’d rather get #17 and #32 this year and their #1 next year.
