The bull-pen really sucks this year. The word apparently went out to lay off any breaking any breaking pitches and wait for fastball strikes. It is clear that the strike zone this year has really been shrunk. But the White Sox hitters are not shy about swinging too much early in the count and chasing pitches out of the zone and falling behind. Way too many walks are the result for the opponents and very few for our boys. What ever happened to the notion of choking up and/or moving around in the box?

This is on Hahn more than anything or anyone else. Keeping the same crew that struggled all last year is unacceptable. Not replacing Hendricks is one thing but keeping the bad relievers from last year is crap. Except for one bad week for the starters, they've as a group is better than their records show but the pen is awful. Bummer hasn't pitched worth a lick in two years, Ruiz was a gas can also for two years straight. This non performance is inexcusable. They needed to make some major changes in the off season but didn't obviously because of who owns the team and who he hires.

I know that I am not telling you what you already know but it is really frustrating to me see what they are doing with the pitching staff or rather what they aren't doing.

Yep. He had an awesome day all around today. They need to keep him in the line-up against right handed pitchers. Sure he will sometimes be over-matched on some at bats but he kills mistakes and makes pitchers pay. I am worried about Eloy though. HE looks lost up there. I think that he misses Abreu as a hitting mentor.
