Love my Echo 58v, which also powers their various attachments. Only downside is the mower doesn’t have a self propel option…but it’s way lighter than my old gas Honda.

I've heard they are great...until you need a new battery, which costs a fortune.

Transition to Bobbie and get a great deal on a mower. Sounds like a win win,

Did you at least ask for a trade in value on your balls?

I’m going into year 3 with my Ego push mower, and I love it, but there is one main drawback. I love all of the obvious advantages - no more gas cans and engine maintenance, runs very quiet, it’s very light and maneuverable. I can mow my quarter acre and my neighbors quarter acre on one charge except during growing season when it is extra thick. The battery is quick charge, so even when I did have to I was back out there in 15 minutes with enough juice to finish the job, so a small built in beer break. I bought the power shovel this past winter so now I have two batteries so that problem is now moot. The main drawback I find is that it doesn’t have a ton of suction, so in the fall it isn’t great at sucking up all the leaves I was used to with my old mower. It just doesn’t have the suction I like that really stands the grass up and gives it a tight cut. It’s not horrible and nobody probably notices it but me, but sometimes the taller grass will got knocked down rather than get sucked up and trimmed. I typically double cut anyway, so it’s a minor observation more so than a harsh criticism. I love it overall and would recommend.

Yup. Goes for cordless tools too. So goddam convenient though.

I wonder if a "high lift" blade is available for more vacuum action- Deere offers three different blade styles for my mower, low noise, high lift and standard. Mine is motivated by burning ancient dinosaur residue, as God intended mowers to be!

I’ve had a Worx mower for over 5 years. It works great and I bought a blower, weedwacker and a machine to suck up leaves from them. Been super happy with their products. Have a pretty small yard now, takes 10 minutes but my old yard was a solid 40 minute cut and never had issues. Need to get my blades sharpened in the next week or so and I’ll be set until winter.

That's a good question - I should look into that.

Don't do it. One day you're trading in your testosterone-n-two-stroke fueled push-mower for a battery-powered EGO and before you know it you'll be blowing Kevin Spacey in his garage!

I'm worried that it would cost $12,000 to be able to charge it in my garage so I'll pass.

One day you are using a gas powered lawn beast as man of few opinions, then the next day you trade in your balls for an EGO and become a man of few orgasms. SMH

You are crazy, all the ladies in my neighborhood are wildly attracted to my lawn and to my environmentally-friendly Ego lawn mower. All the guys just stand back and dream what it must be like to have a thick lush lawn like mine and wonder how I do it, while my Ego blows clippings in their faces while the ladies laugh at them.

I hear if you're vaccinated and get a battery mower, they only take one testicle.

So which model do you have, Bob?

This saturday is "first mow of the year" day, and I can hardly wait. Take the Ego down off the wall, pop in that battery, press a button and its go time.

battery powered everything is inevitable. within 10 years, every electronic device will have 2-5x the battery capacity, 5-10x the charging speed, and no significant fire risk. you will only plug your phone in once a week for about 10 minutes, and your car will go 1000 miles on a 10 min charge. theyre already hitting these numbers in the lab with many different chemistries.

maybe someday. there are many solid state formulas being made right now that would hit those performance numbers, just need to mass produce. graphene is being used somewhat in samsung batteries too. but until we go full solid state, we will suffer with shitty flammable batteries.
