Sox are currently 7-12

They have not won back to back games yet. They have not won a series yet. The rest of their April is as follows;
Off today
3 @TB
3 @TOR
4 vs TB

My guess is they are going to finish April with a 10-19 record. I can't see them doing better than 11-18.
Yuck.

Damn those are all tough games. They need to play the Oakland Gays, err A’s.

May is all divisional games except for 3 @Cinci, 3 vs Houston, 3 vs LAA. So a bit easier and maybe some winnable games but I'm not sure the Sox are better than any of those teams listed, or anyone in their own division outside of the Royals.

This is going to be a 72-90 season. And next year they will try to piecemeal it with a couple veterans free ajents, and will win 78-80 games. Round and round we go.

Nothing will change until JERRY dies or sells.

Eloy is hitting about a hundred and has already been on the IL this season. The time to make a move was this past offseason. Anderson's trade value is never going to be higher than it was this past December.

Bumgarner DFA'd. Take a flyer on him. He can't be much worse than what Lynn has been so far this season.

Take a flyer, and if he's serviceable, maybe they can get a low level prospect for him when they trade everyone else in July. (my Sox positivity might be at an all time low).

I'd love the season starting in May ending in August with playoffs starting on September 1st.

That's not going to happen though.
You see a lot of people talk about shortening the baseball season. I don't disagree, but you also have NBA and NHL playoffs that started over a week ago and will not finish until late June. 8 weeks of playoff games is just fucking absurd.

Spiegel had the same take the other day, but he also added Sheets to the mix. It seems kind of backward to trade Eloy to open up a slot for two guys who are probably going to prove themselves to be 4A players.

The NBA/NHL Playoffs are also way too long. If there was a shorter NBA season, would load management still exist? Having best of 7 series for Round 1 is ridiculous. Most of these series tend to be over in 5, maybe 6 games and the playoff schedule (due to TV) extends series with extra time off.

I would be good with a 130 game regular season for MLB. Shave off a month and ensure the playoffs are played in warmer temps in mainly September/early October.

With Sheets, Eloy, Burger, and Vaughn they are still way too top heavy in DH types. Having 4 players that are pretty limited defensively does seem to be a bit top heavy.

A 1B is probably a DH type (generally). On this team, I'm not sure they want any of these guys (maybe Vaughn) playing the field at all.

Well now you’re getting into those pesky discussions about do corner, outfield, and first base positions matter defensively ( Hi JORR !!! )

It would be easier to overlook some of the defensive issues if their DH types were putting up DH type numbers.... Sox are 11% of the the way through the season, and Vaughn is on pace for 10 HR's.
11% of the season played, and Vaughn, Sheets, and Eloy have a combined 2 HR's......

You need at least adequate defense at 3rd. Moncada's glove is actually pretty good over there.

When Burger is at 3rd it looks like he has shoelaces tied together and a frying pan strapped to his hands.

Simple: trade all the Cubans.

One thing is for sure. A guy with the nickname "Flapjacks" definitely knows a thing or 2 about having a frying pan strapped to his hands.
