I am not surprised he spends as much time as he does thinking about the White Sox.

Its good to see his playing of "Meathead Cop in Background" translates to real life as well. Must be pretty easy for him to get into character.

Injuries might happen and then you still have to pay big money out for many years, vs just going year to year a bit longer. Plus, it may make players less motivated, because they already are assured of generational wealth. This post is not just about pointing out that perhaps I was right.....that's a given. Seriously, I wonder if Sox fans now feel differently about the team giving out all those long term deals prematurely?

Tim Anderson far outplayed the value of the contract.

Luis Robert has done no worse than played to the value but probably exceeded it. Jimenez as well.

Moncada was already enriched by the Red Sox contract.

They aren't drowning from those contracts.

No, they are not drowning, but that wasn't his point.

Was signing young talent to generational wealth before they had accomplished anything a wise decision?

All indicators so far are that it was not a wise decision.

Posting history says Elmhurst Steve never said anything about signing guys ahead of time. Not one post on the Moncada, Eloy, or Robert deals.

However, he did say that Tim Anderson was a second rate hitter.

What is the point? You think they are not motivated to become better in the off season or play when less than 100%?

I personally think Anderson could be playing. Moncada, I don't give a fuck if he plays or not.

Moncada is a fucking china doll and given that he was the centerpiece of the Chris Sale deal, he may he on the Mt Rushmore of Chicago Sports busts.

Tim Anderson shouldn't even be in the conversation. He has appeared in 2 ASG and won a batting title since he had his arbitration years bought out. Now, even in these last two max years, he's only making 12 and 14 per.

The point is if they gave a shit about their profession, they wouldn't get hurt over and over again and then sit on their ass with a load of cash already.

'Guys that care don't get hurt' is an incredibly stupid take.

In the past four years tim anderson has:

2019- won a batting title
2020- won a silver slugger at shortstop
2021- been an all star
2022- been an all star

he has hit over .300 in each of those years and averaged an ops of about 124

I heard Steve Stone yesterday talk about this and while he didn't want to call Moncada injury prone, he did say that it was a mistake to build a team around a player who misses a lot of games.

Russell helped his team win a World Series with monster home runs in the 2016 NLCS. How has Jackie helped his team win?

Please don't make me make you look stupid.

Sox win % with and without Anderson was just posted by others a few days ago

No need to get sensitive about defending the 3rd best SS in Chicago. He's irrelevant.

Today Steve Stone told the morning show that Lance Lynn would do well to have a few salads.

How many three-run home runs do the Sox plan to give up this year?
