That's good to know, I didn't know he had "resurfaced" until now. That whole KS thing was kind of creepy though.

Actually, classroom education isn't all that necessary in the broadcast world.

I guess it's all in the expectations, Al. Some stations apparently have expectations that their personalities only talk a good game, understand the basics of broadcast mechanics and relate to listeners. Most other broadcasters, however, seem to have different expectations. They expect their personalities to use proper English and grammar and have an understanding of how to organize thoughts and write coherently. Even on a most basic level, understanding the inverted pyramid, for example, may not be a requirement for broadcasters, but the discipline of practicing and using that writing method has benefits for anyone who speaks for a living. That knowledge and practice usually come from a broadcast journalism education. There are some of both types on the two sports radio stations. I think most of us can tell the difference.

Hello Boys,

Long time no post.....Jason and I really appreciate all the comments both positive and negative.....we enjoy doing the show and know where we need to improve.....it does take time and we hope to continue to get time to do that......as a side note I'd like to mention that I do have a bachelors degree in communications...I went to ICB so I could get caught up on the newest technology in radio.....I did graduate college in 1995....so I thought ICB would relly help me.....it did - it's a really good school and I loved my time there - those reads that you have heard me doing for the school (sometimes too often) I did those for the school cuz I really like the people that run the school! I wasn't paid for those - I do reads where my name is attached to them only for things that I ACTUAALY USE AND BELIEVE IN...............thanks again boys - Last Call should be on the air again sometime in April!!!!

That's just Dolphin being Dolphin. If he were in charge, there would probably be nothing but paid programming on the air during certain hours.

Also, some of us do have radios in our vehicles, GD. As someone that drives from the burbs to the city or from one burb to another, I often turn the mechanism on as a means to make traffic and traffic lights less annoying. But that's just me.

I'm kind of like Manny being Manny in that respect.

Nothing like powering up for a night on the town with talk radio. It's not what I would choose, but if Dolphin's got to be Dolphin I guess everyone else should be able to be who they are.

I think that advice was to Martin. I really miss that guy. I can understand why he left though. Keeping Score stalked him on a Kathy Bates from Misery level.

I'm quite sure he is the poster now know has Contempt.

I remember reading that but it was never confirmed and the writing style does not seem the same. If it is, good.

Well Martin and Contempt both have love for Tommy Williams and Silvy and Carmen. Plus Martin and Contempt have described them in a similar manner. I can't think of many people with both T-Dub and Silvy and Carmen love...

On the topic of Saturdays, I'm REALLY fucking tired of Blackhawks hockey. Seriously. I know it gives Jesse Rogers something to do, but it's on almost every damn day. Most nights I'd prefer listening to local radio personalities discuss sports topics of interest, not another Blackhawks ass whooping.

And another good night of sportstalk radio gets pre-empted for another Hawks bitchslapping.
