Carnivore is just an extreme high protein low carb diet. The goal is to be as close to zero carbs as possible.

A guy at work eats about 2 lbs of ground beef or steak every day.

not much different than the Atkins diet....as RFDC...no carbs or sugars. It works, but it can be weird on your digestive track. Russell Wilson would love it as you'll not poop very much

I believe it also can bad for cholesterol, but I'm no nutritionist. Your missing roughage from salad and other veggies.

thought for sure I would have a bad weigh in today. Felt like I ate too much cereal this week. Told the wife I'd be happy with any loss at all even if it's just 0.2 lbs. Then I hit the scale today and had my biggest loss since week 1 of the diet, 2.5 lbs. Down to 218.6, first time in the teens since I got back from Israel in August.

Total loss since the start of the year = 22.4 lbs.

Goal = the mid 190s.

Nice job shakes. I am down about 7 from the beginning of the year and should be walking a lot this spring at the golf course. I got a new job Jan 2nd and I think that had something to do with it as well, it is a lot more stress.

only down 0.4 lbs this week which is no surprise given last week's massive drop. any week I lose is a good week.

If you added in some light exercise (even walking) the weight would drop even more

Believe me I know. I wish I could do even light exercise. I do go for walks with the dogs, but if I'm walking on hard surfaces my back becomes and issue and sciatica into my left foot can act up. It's hit or miss. Some walks I'm ok after, but I've had some where I end up laid up on the couch for 24 hours afterwards. On weekends I take them to the 40 acre dog forest preserve and let them run around there for an hour. That's good for me cause it's all on grass. I was swimming for a while which was good, but now I just don't have time or energy to go to the health club after work.

So I'm doing it the long way. Just drastically reducing what I eat and shedding a half pound to a pound per week. It's working so I'm fine with it even if it will take me until some time next fall to reach my goal weight.

Get a recumbent bike and a tv with a fire stick and hit that for 45 minutes every night.

i bought a recumbent bike and only used it one time because it put way too much pressure on my sciatic nerve root.

On a related note, anyone want to buy a barely used recumbent bike?

Get an assault bike. You can burn 200 calories in like 5 minutes if you push hard. And you won't be on long enough to irritate your back.

those look interesting, but no, I can't use those. Can't sit on that seat and work out. Also can't push hard because of the extensive nerve damage in my left foot and leg.

Appreciate the suggestions, but it is what it is.

good 1.5lb drop this week. Down to 215.6. Started the year at 241. Don't think I'll make my May goal of 210 when I go to Scottsdale in a few weeks, but that's fine. Happy with the progress.

20-25 lbs to go!

Weight loss / working out is such a mental game . Slow and steady is what wins the race and you just have to keep at it on the weeks when you plateau and maybe dont lose any . Have to accept those weeks and not give up and keep at it . Eventually you start losing again . If youre doing what youre supposed to be doing youlll reach your goals in time .

this 100%.

When I started my diet at the start of the year I predicted it would take me until September to reach my goal. Sometimes less than 1/2 pound per week, but the good news is I've had a loss every single week. And after a few weeks of minimal loss I always respond with a big drop of 1.5 lbs or more. Then the cycle starts again.

I have lost 50 pounds since December 1. Some of the weight has come off due to intermittent fasting and exercise, some of it came off due to stress/anxiety regarding my wife's health situation. Thanks to those of you who have messaged me about the latter. I have stopped responding to PMs because things are pretty depressing to talk about right now. Hopefully things will improve.

I missed the latter, but I hope you are healthy and well. I'll say a prayer for your wife and send some positive thoughts out into the universe.

When you're married, your spouse wants to know who you are trying to lose weight for. Then they bombard you with all of your known vices.

So with intermittent fasting do you just eat like you normally would during the hours you can? Or do you adjust to a certain calorie amount or food focus?

TM, sorry to hear that man.

not my wife. she just wants to know when it will be over so we can start going out to dinner again. She's become collateral damage of my nightly dinner of a protein bar.
