If the Bears are going with the best player for the first 3 rounds, I think it is highly unlikely that the Bears draft an offensive lineman with the first pick. Watching the Cunningham interview, I think it's highly unlikely the Bears will draft Carter, even if he is there at 9.

I just do not see any way they can justify coming out of the first 3 rounds with no OL help. I completely get best player available thinking, but OL has to have help.

I think it has to be Carter or OL. I don’t care which OL.

After their outside-in approach in FA, they have to try to field NFL caliber lines. Otherwise they’re the White Sox refusing to fix the same holes year after year.

I think they only need a tackle. The defensive line has more holes than Swiss cheese and this draft is loaded with edge rushers.

I am getting a strong feeling that my favorite team may be attempting to trade up this year, and wouldn't be surprised at all to see them move up to grab a corner, even if it is only into the teens to get a chance at a guy like Joey Porter Jr.. Porter is a talented press corner that would fit in well with Wink Martindale's blitzing man coverage schemes. The Giants secondary is pretty weak, they were starting practice squad guys down the stretch. That's my hope for tonight. Unless one of the top guys falls in their lap, I don't see them going WR in the first round with the signings and trades they've made.

You think? It looks top heavy. I think there's a lot of depth when it comes to edge rushers and WR.

i agree with this - i like 3 or 4 of the top guys and think there is a drop-off after that. I wouldn't be in favor of paying the cost to get into the top 10, but if one of the good ones unexpectedly falls a little bit I'd be in favor of a move into the mid-teens to get one of the higher-tier, more physical guys. Otherwise stay put and take best player available.

I'd say it's the year of the tight end.

Edge rushers and TE are great. WR is mediocre. I don't see a potential star. I like the CB group up and down the draft. I can't remember so many tall prospects at the position. I also think the RB group is great, but it seems like that every year.
