Agreed. We’ve lined up so far for the most part on what we’d like to see.

Maybe a 3rd and next their 2024 2nd.

Not set in stone, but using the "value chart", 53 and 61 would be a little bit of an overpay, and 61/64 undervalued. Personally, I don't think Pittsburgh would want to drop that far, unless the trade is a big overpay.

Agreed on your last point. Is what it is

I like BJ Ojulari too.. he’d be a great 2nd day pick if the Bears went that direction (I’d take Tippman 1st tho)

Whitehair's days are numbered if Tippmann is available.

If money were tight, I'd agree. He may be an expensive backup, but he can play every position on the line in a pinch. He has something like 50 starts at each of the interior positions. Teven Jenkins is always going to require a starting caliber player to back him up. He has been a good Bear, so an overpayed send off year wouldn't be a problem.

I am fine with CB but they traded up for this guy? everything I see says this is a reach. Why trade up.

Poles is another ‘smartest guy in the room’ type. Not a good sign.

Less of a Stretch than the DT was. Chasing "need" when there are tons of better choices out there and you need everything seems like a mistake.

Yup. Poles wants to prove he knows something no one else does. They pass on the best player in the draft due to lack of effort and giving up.. then turn right around and draft a guy in the 2nd who is no where near as talented and has the same criticisms

Love the OT and Corner additions, I question the DT pick. Seems undersized to me considering how opponents ran roughshod over the dline last year.

The Bears' Day 2 picks look absolutely awful. Poles' talent evaluation seems entirely based on Relative Athletic Score. He is nothing other than a slightly updated version of Phil Emery. For all the time he has spent in scouting, Poles seems to understand very little about predicting player success.

Last year's picks on Day 2 seemed stronger (though they were still flawed). Is that Because the team's scouting staff was relying more heavily on Pace's evaluation philosophy than Poles'? What a disaster.

Several of these players were available and he didn't take them. I'm really disappointed. I hope he is right and I am dead wrong.

He is primarily picking SEC guys which is fine, surprised the experts here are not recognizing that he going heavy at DT to keep offensive linemen off his LB's. Taking a CB was not a surprise, not sure if Jaylon Johnson or the Bears are interested in a long term deal.

They also obviously like taller DT's which seems to be the new wrinkle in the Cover-2 three technique positional profile under Eberflus. The run on edge guys early in the second round took most of the guys who could start day one off the board.

Will be interesting to see where they go with the first pick in round 4, will they triple down on dline and go with the Northwestern kid who is at the top of the best player available lists, or reach a bit for a Center?

So far they have a starter at RT, have upgraded the size and talent at DT, and have added depth at CB, you can still maybe find a starting center, but looking at depth or developmental guys with the remaining picks.

They didn't have a starting CB opposite Johnson with Gordon in the nickel so that pick will likely be a Day 1 starter and fills a big need.

The DL picks are probably considered reaches, but they did fill holes and should hopefully improve the run defense and start the process of rebuilding the line. Still need an edge guy and I wouldn't be opposed to adding more help there to open the draft.

We’re at the point where it is highly unlikely the Bears will be calling the names of guys I like, but either way, here’s my list for the first pick of the 4th Round:

1. Kelee Ringo - Dropping enough that you have to wonder if at 6’2”, 210 lbs, the NFL sees him more as a FS type. Could add depth for the Bears at outside CB and be the future at FS after Eddie.

2. Adetomiwa Adebawore - Freak athlete that can play DE or slide inside as a pass rusher. Needs development, but has freakish raw tools with a 4.49 time at 280+ lbs. Depth to starter in 1-2 years?

3. Henry To’oTo’o - Undersized at 6’1”, 230, but he’s quick, athletic, flies to the ball, and will deliver a blow. Good in coverage and sideline to sideline. Nice depth piece, Special Teamer, and possible 3rd down LB.

4. Clark Phillips III - Undersized CB who lacks top end speed, but plays with anticipation and great ball skills. Depth add who can play outside CB or in the Nickel as needed.

5. Roschon Johnson - Perfect fit for what we lack. 220+ RB who would’ve started on 85% of the D-I programs, but was behind Bijan. Low tread on the tires, best pass protection RB in the Draft, and will get downhill between the tackles. Can get to 225-230 with that frame.

6. Darius Rush - See Kelee Ringo with better speed and ball skills as a former WR and possible Safety conversion. But new to the position, so has a lot to learn about next level technique.

7. Chandler Zavala - Depth add inside at OG, with excellent size (pushing 330), good strength and power, etc. Not the best with technique and pulling, but a future starting NFL OG in time.

8. Blake Freeland - Depth at OT. Future LT at 6’8”, 310. Needs to add size and strength, but top tester at the Combine athletically. Great feet. Not used to playing this level of competition. But great tools to develop.

9. Tyler Scott - Small burner type WR with excellent speed and elite ball skills. He’s little, so have to be selective with how you use him, but he can develop into a weapon. Also a return man option.

10. Nick Herbig - 240 lbs Edge who if 265+, would’ve been gone by the 2nd Round. Excellent burst and get off, Bosa-level hand fighting at the line, and can get home. But lacks the ability to drop effectively in coverage as a LB and can get engulfed by big athletic OTs. Makes him a super tweener.

Bears will likely take someone I’ve never heard of though. LOL

Still need a RB that can catch the ball, seems the experts were completely wrong about the demand for RB's and my guy Gibbs went way earlier than expected to the Lions, so you may get another stab a what Ebener was supposed to be sometime today, maybe the Texas kid is a fit.

Do expect a shot at a center at some point.

Herbig looks to be one of the better edge guys out there, but does not really fit the "length" requirement they like, maybe the kid from Army?

A.T. Perry is also interesting, fit the big WR they covet.
