They just aren't a well run organization any more. Maybe we need an age limit for owning a team if even the second greatest owner in Chicago sports history can't get it done any more. Father Time is undefeated.

When Kenny and Hahn are no longer employed by the team. So it's gonna be awhile.

Still true 6 years later
Pretty much. Add Jerry to the list as well. Clearly he doesn't give a shit if the Sox win or lose. Nothing will change until he dies or sells.

It would not shock me the Sox get a new owner and they decide to move the team out of Chicago within the next 5-10 years.

Or...
Were you trying to troll cubs fans right after their world series win?

Either way, you fucked up.
I didn't put a timeline on it but if you read the original post most of the things haven't happened yet.

It seems like you are acting like this thread meant the White Sox were going to be winning championships very soon. This is about what the White Sox could be including a new owner/stadium.

I don't know why you thought this was about trolling Cubs fans. How could it do that?

You're a peach. If you're calling a team a sleeping giant what is the timeliness? 6 years later they're still sleeping? And yeah, calling them the "biggest sleeping giant in sports" kinda does sound like you're predicting championships soon. Which you were. Let's not pretend you weren't. Unless... final point... you were trolling cubs fans who were coming off their WS. Kinda like the Dodgers thread. That was trolling.

This is why you won't reference the original list. It included a new rich owner and a new stadium.

I thought they had a lot of minor league talent. If you want to think that meant I was guaranteeing championships than go ahead. I don't see the need to argue with you about it. Agreeing to disagree is ok on my own thoughts.

You created a thread dedicated to me to tell me about a real life argument you had as a way to tell me I argue too much. Why the eye roll when I'm asking if you had a similar thing happen today?

Should I just assume that if you haven't bumped the "Hey Brick..." thread you didn't have a real life argument that day?

These are my favorite times I get blamed for arguing too much by a guy who opened up an argument again after 6 years.

I really didn't. Caller Bob did. It is, after all, his era. But since I was struck by the level of wrongness you had, I felt it warranted a thought or two. All on topic.

This guy gets it:

The saddest part, or infuriating, depending on your emotional state, is this division. A collection of tiny cities with not much tradition of winning. The Twins, I suppose, are well run. But it isn't like the Cardinals or the Rays.

I don't find any excuse compelling that the White Sox shouldn't be in the thick of it, year in, year out.

Cleveland is very well run, not on Rays level but close. Sox will never have the player development/farm that they do

How can they accomplish such a thing with the 25th highest payroll in the league CB? Shouldn't that fall under the category of "organizational problem" as someone here wants us to believe? Just Asking A Question

Frank Coztansa wrote:
Another sad and infuriating part is the Sox have been to the promised land. They know what its like to be on top. Evidently, they dont care enough or flat out dont want to get back.

Thats an organizational problem, not solely a GM problem.

Ah yes, how could we forget the historically well run franchise formerly known as the Cleveland Indians.

They are run much better than the Sox, I'm not sure how you could argue otherwise?

Right now they are better run but the Indians were a joke of an organization for decades.

Duh? Because he has to roll (or troll) with his main man "Francis" at all costs. Even as he sounds like an ass. After all "solidarity" is the key!

They haven't been a joke since the 80s, they had the absolute stacked teams in the 90s and then after that you had Shapiro/Antonetti doing the analytics thing.

Yeah and Baltimore was a "very well run" organization during the Earl Weaver era. "What's Your Point"?

He is just living in an alternate reality right now. The Sox will never have the player development infrastructure like Cleveland, they would have to gut everything out to get there.

One day Cleveland's superior infrastructure will lead to a WS win. They've perfected how to lose a Game 7 in the most wrist slitting way.

ehh, they seem to find pitching in the bushes outside the stadium, I'll give them that, and it is pretty irritating. Now if they spent to keep guys they developed, you'd have a point.

For those who think what Tampa does is easy, well, why doesn't everybody do it? Because they are an outlier, an extreme one at that.

You have to both spend AND draft/develop in baseball for sustainability. Houston/Dodgers is the proof of that.
