Given everything the Sox have done over the last ~8 months, Hahn deserves kudos. If the Sox continue to suck for the next 4-5 years, he will deserve and likely get a lot of negative press.

There is clearly a different philosophy in the way of doing things now with the Sox front office. Its basically the complete opposite of what Kenny Williams did for the better part of 11 years. Given that and what Kenny himself has publically said, it leads me to believe that Hahn was NOT 100% in charge of the roster regardless of what his title was.

Why? The Dodgers have a great farm, print more money than the government, and lose every year. The Rays have the smartest people in baseball in their organization, and they also lose every year. Do they get extra style points for losing?

If you are a White Sox fan, the only org you don't trade places with is Oakland(maybe not, they are getting a new stadium). Sox I believe are 13th in overall payroll, but with no farm that isn't enough. You have to spend to the point you can't fail, like the Yankees. And 100% the worst farm system in baseball. You need a pipleline, and they don't know how to manage Latins. The Latin player, prone to laziness, only motivated by money/fear of losing a job. You paid them and there are no prospects in the minors pushing them so they have mailed in the rest of their careers.
