Blackhawks only have a 11.5 percent chance of getting the first overall pick.

And only a 20% chance of that.

Seems like a 3 player draft. so hawks will probably get the #4 pick

I think there are a few tiers: Top tier of one guy, the next three guys are in the second tier then you have a bunch that are 5-20 or so that are tier 3 then the rest. The good thing is that guys who are in the second round this year, in other drafts, would probably go in the first round. It's a deep draft. I'd like to see them use some of those second-round picks to move up into the first round. That would give them 3 in the first.

I go to NHL Tankathon and do the simulated lottery every onece in a while. I'd say that positions 4 and 5 are what I get most then 1st then 2nd. I haven't had #3 come up yet. Here is a list of the complete odds: https://www.tankathon.com/nhl/pick_odds

So there are 4 pretty good players at the top? It seems most likely that they come away with the 4th pick

looking forward to seeing tonight just how badly the Hawks screwed up the next 15 years by failing to tank properly.

I'm rooting for the Ducks to get #1. They've been the best tankers all season and deserve to be rewarded for not screwing up something as simple as losing on purpose.

Bedard is the clear #1. In terms of talent, was reading that the Russian kid was probably #2 but since he’s signed in the KHL for three more years, not to mention the geopolitical climate, might not be the best choice at two. Then you have Fantilli and Carlsson. After that, not sure. Hawks will get a really good player at 19 or 20, wherever it ends up.

You should be mad at Boston, Calgary and Pittsburgh for losing to a horrible team, especially Calgary and Pittsburgh because both teams had playoff implications at stake.

Good deal. From what I was reading it seems like a good year also to have multiple 2nd round picks. Said that the 2nd round talent this year was pretty deep and most would be 1st round picks in other years.

It would seem the NHL would want a potential superstar kid in a big NHL market, and while the Hawks sucking is not a major factor in the tanking NHL TV ratings it is likely a contributing factor, but doubt that Bettman has the foresight to mess with the ping pong balls like David Stern to insure a league favorable outcome.

It would be interesting to see a projection on the number of jerseys Bedard would sell if he was a Hawk and compare that against the projected number if he played for Columbus.

willing to give the relatively new front office a chance. dach had a decent year with montreal while debrincat tallied nearly half his points on the PP. was an incredible -31 plus/minus. a rebuild is one thing...trading future assets (talent and role players) while on a rebuild will constantly set you back. traded lafferty and mccabe. was ok with the dach move...these guys need to know their players before anyone else does. do they??

still devoid of offensive talent, the D needs the youngsters to be actual NHL talent and not a big fan of the G situation. nowhere to go but up.

it's easier to lose than it is to win so I'm fine with putting ALL the blame on the Hawks.

I wouldn't mind seeing them package one or two and trying to move up to get a third first rounder.

That was weird.. Didn't see#3 selected and all of sudden they are saying it's between Hawks and (I think Columbus) for #1.

Stan would probably trade the pick to Edmonton for Darnell Nurse, a prospect and a future #1.

How long does it take for one of these guys to make it through the minors?

I want to time me buying season tickets appropriately

#1 overall picks seldom go to the minors. If they do, it was over before it began.

If this was baseball he would be sent to the minors until he was 20 unless signed an 11 year contract.

Coyotes fans, all 12 of them, are losing their shit right now because they lost draft picks for draft fuckery and we didn't.
