They were 25 home runs below league average and lost Abreu. I wouldn’t say they have plenty of power.

If they can get 500 at-bats each out of Robert and Jimenez, I'm pretty sure they do.

I'm thinking low K, high OBP Benintendi should lead off.

No, you bat him behind TA7. I think old school baseball still works. TA7 is the Sox best position player and their most valuable player; he should still be the leadoff hitter.

and probably a top 5-10 hitter by batting average in the league over the last four years

Seems like wishful thinking. Especially with Eloy. Guy is a walking injury.

I'm obviously wrong because this morning Bruce Levine advocated for Benintendi leading off. I now think it's a horrible idea.

i can't wait for some huge 8th inning situation with runners on and 2 outs where Grandal waves on a slider down and away, can't catch up to a center cut fastball, then whiffs on another slide down and away .

I know LouBob had issues with his hands/wrists last year but his lack of power is mind boggling. You would figure a guy like him would cruise to 20HR every year and occasionally hit over 30.

*IF* Eloy can get 500 ABs he should be a 40HR guy even with MLB fucking with the baseballs.

That will be salt in the wound because in the top half of the 8th Joe Kelly or Jake Diekman will have given up three runs after the Sox had lead all game.

Or he finds himself on 2nd and can't score off a double.

That's what Billy Hamilton is for.

I'm laughing at the accuracy of your post even though I liked both guys before they arrived.

He's probably a better defensive catcher than Grandal at this point as well.

If fish had legs they’d be mice.

I wouldn’t count on 500 at bats from guys who get hurt every year. It’s not bad luck. It’s who they are.

Well, to be fair, they lost Jimenez, Robert, Grandal, Burger, and Anderson to injuries and Abreu had a power drop-off.

They absolutely need to get Burger into the starting line-up. And without a catcher and a right fielder and a second baseman, their damned line-up is still going to be awful at the bottom of the line-up.

I agree if they are going to be aggressive on the basepaths. IF they are not going to run Anderson, then he could hit 2nd or maybe 5th.

And they get hurt every year. You can expect each of these to get hurt for a significant portion of the next season. You can set your watch to it. It’s not bad luck when it happens every year. It’s who they are.

Vaccianted Caller White Sox Fan has it all figured out. This team's biggest problem is that they don't have a guy with a .760 OPS playing left field. Slam dunk argument indeed.

Ouch, another rough Ralph prediction. Defensive Metrics have Benintendi as one of the worst left fielders in baseball, it might not be that big of deal, if you know, he could hit even a little bit
