When you give up zero runs, scoring three is usually enough to win. Putz.

Terrible game both ways for Robert. He again botched trying to make a diving catch on a ball directly in front of him with the ball ending up in front of the CF bullpen. At the plate he still swings on the least competitive pitches. As a group, the Sox probably are one of the worst teams I've ever seen with pitch recognition out of the pitcher's hand. At least try to focus on the ball coming out of the pitcher's hand and read it as a fastball or not.

Sad simple Frank doesn't know simple math. Produce on offense the rest of the year like Friday they'll finish behind the Royals. Now go back to planning on getting your tenth booster shot genius.

Simple math is the 69 your mother loves.

Quote:
CHICAGO – Prior to tonight’s series opener vs. Detroit, the Chicago White Sox announced the following four roster moves:

Reinstated RHP Mike Clevinger from the 15-day injured list;
Returned INF Elvis Andrus from his injury rehabilitation assignment at Class AAA Charlotte and reinstated him from the 10-day injured list;
Designated INF Hanser Alberto for assignment;
Optioned RHP Jesse Scholtens to Charlotte.

Can’t recall seeing a game end on the umpire getting drilled in the face.

Bizarre. But I'll take it.

McKnight said on the radio that one of those games was the infamous Andy Hawkins game.

I watched that recently. So much fun. Of course, had the wind not been blowing in at what seemed to be 40 mph (I was there), Sosa would have knocked one in the upper deck.

Charlotte finished 58-92 last year. They are better this year (27-29) but not good. Sosa and some Oakland reject named Nate are their best hitters. And Bryan Ramos is there now.

Birmingham is currently 17-33. Montgomery hasn't played yet this year. Their best hitter is Alsander Womack, also a MI. It's an extreme pitchers park so the hitting numbers dont look great but still...

There is basically no position player help on the farm. What does Chris Getz actually do?

His season OPS is .908. Do you still feel that way?

I stand corrected on Burger. Regular playing time seems to be helping him. But his defense is still suspect and he probably should be a DH.

But if that's all Chris Getz has (well, maybe Romy too) that's a pretty weak output.

Is it too much to ask for 11-11 until we go to Oakland at the end of the month?

Probably. No AL Central games. All .500 or better opponents.

I'm not sold yet. I think you can pitch to him. Throwers have a problem. Fucker is fun though. He barrels up and it's like out of a cannon.

Check out his home and away splits.

That's a pretty dramatic split and I don't really have an explanation for it. I do think he's too much of a free swinger, but also think he's a legit MLB bat who will maintain an OPS north of .750.

Ks are a problem, yes. What bothers me most is many of them are easy Ks. Like Ron Kittle the softball player-like Ks. It's sticking in my craw.

7 series. My 100% inaccurate "lock" picks

They won't sweep any of them
Will get swept once (0-3)
Win 2 (4-2)
Split the 4 game Angels series (2-2)
Lose other 3 (3-6)

Overall: 9-13

If Burger can manage even a .230 average and stay healthy, his bat is likely good enough for 30+ HRs a year. He'll probably find a job in MLB at that rate.

Burger 2023 WAR; 0.9
Grandal 2020, 2022, 2023 combined WAR; -0.6
