As I said earlier in the year, there is talent on this roster. Just not enough depth nor any super stars. .500 is probably the best we should expect but more likely a ten under team after 162 games.

Mancini was veteran insurance for Happ not getting extended and being dealt in spring training, so Wisdom could play LF and someone could stand at 1B until Mervis came up. That's why I liked the signing when it happened.

At this point with Happ extended and them being stuck with Suzuki in RF, one if not both of Mancini and Wisdom are superfluous. I've been wanting to trade Wisdom all along. Mancini can go away now whenever he would like to do so.

Mastrobuoni? I have to admit severe fault on this one. I saw him play a lot in Durham and thought he could at least generate a .270/.320/.320 as a backup at six positions. But he can't hit major league pitching, at least not yet. He's the Italian Dave Rosello.

You’re blind if you do not see the talent on this roster. They have a solid run differential. It is an incomplete team that lacks star power, but there is a lot of talent. I feel like they are one or two years away from being a 90 win team, if some of the young guys develop and they make a few more free agent acquisitions.

A guy like Happ is On Base machine. There are several quality starting pitchers. I like the middle infield combo. Anyway, I guess I am just an optimist.
