We know the previous regime basically forced Foley into retirement because he dared call out the destruction Stan was bringing to the organization.

However, with none of those dipshits left, it's time to bury the hatchet and bring back Foley to call the games. Foley was the voice of so many great Hawks moments and it just won't feel right if we don't have his voice for this new era we are embarking upon.

Gonna try to give the new kid a chance, see they have brought Panger in this year to give him some help.

Will always love Foley, and nobody would do a better job of pumping up Bedard, but doubt he has the interest/energy required to work a full schedule at his age.

Factually speaking, Pat Foley is 68 years old. He probably has a little left in the tank, but I'm fine with a younger voice. One with a personality and a set of testicles would be nice, but I'm sure the Blackhawks like everyone else will go for watered down "safe".

What if that legendary voice was already in the city? A guy so versatile he does all of the sports that people watch, so transitioning to hockey would be no problem?

He’s in his 30s and universally beloved. He’s a Chicago guy through and through with impeccable Journalist credentials.

He would happily work a full season less the pre-season games.

He was the same way when he was 48.

They had the chance to get John Forslund when the Hurricanes inexplicably refused to renew his contract. They could have done a year of transition with Foley. But no.

Give him a good team and a solid partner with a limited schedule and he may have interest, but he does not do bad hockey well, it seemed that he and Edzo would shut 'er down and go into story mode to try to fill time, but you could hear he was not really interested in the product they were putting on the ice.

The kid doing play by play kind of reminds me of Dudley Do-Right, not sure what his name is and just caught a bit of him with Panger doing some draft talk, but he's gonna be our guy so gonna give him a listen early to see if Bedard can live up to all the hype.

Foley was done. Such a tired broadcast with him and Eddie. And I loved listening to his broadcasts on the radio as a kid.

Nah, he is alluding to Zach Zaidman. I could only imagine how epic his goal call would be.

You guys are thinking too small. I’m thinking an espn voice…someone with the gravitas to do it nationally.

You just want him off the White Sox broadcasts...

Forslund and Tracy were overrated because people just liked to be like "ACKSHUALLY, the BEST broadcasters are in Raleigh, where no one watches the games but me, so I know something you don't know." Same with Ralph Strangis and Daryl Reaugh in Dallas. They were fine, but people talked about them like they were demi-gods. Reaugh in particular is just a louder, dumber Ed Olczyk.

I'm actually a fan of his, but I don't want him because that would mean no more college basketball for him and he is the best college basketball pbp guy going.

He isn't ESPN anymore. He's with Fox, which is fitting since Fox now has the B1G.
