If anybody is planning on going to Vegas this winter, I just got a good promotion from The Wynn. Go to their www.wynnlasvegas.com, click on reserve a room, go to promotions, and enter this code in: WPLED41. $259/night for Friday and Saturday, $169/night for Sunday-Thursday. It's good through 2/26. That's cheaper than I've ever seen their rates before.

When Frank Gifford still had a career, I used to arrange play dates at the Wynn with his wife.

Over $600 for a room plus the $300 for a flight? How the hell would I gamble? I would rather stay off strip and gamble downtown.

I concur. Just stay at Main Street Station or Golden Nugget. Cheaper rooms, and lower minimums at the tables. You can always take a $30 cab ride, or a $5 bus ride to the strip, and spend a day hanging out at the big casinos.

Anyone have any Expedia (or others sites) codes for discounts on Vegas trips? Specifically over the next 3-4 months....

I have found that the best way to get a deal is to sign up for e-mail specials directly at the casino website. Mgm grand, the mirage, palazzo, ti, etc. All have really good deals going on. Same with mandaly bay. Basically, all of the places on the strip.

I will do so, but if you/others have any good codes, please share.

Here's one for TI:
http://www.treasureisland.com/offers/20 ... index.html
They give you a great deal, but you have to pay for every night of your stay when you book and it's non-refundable.

Mandalay Bay:
http://www.mandalaybay.com/accommodatio ... tions.aspx

Mirage:
http://www.mirage.com/hotel-promotions/

MGM Grand
http://www.mgmgrand.com/special_offers/

I've deleted some of the e-mails I've received, but I will no doubt receive more. I'll post them and any codes as I get them.

I'm staying at the Palazzo in December. They and the Venetian have weekday rates for $119 per night!

i dont get hung up on nice accommodations in vegas either - its all about the gaming for me, and that begins and ends for me on fremont street. i like staying down there for the convenience of walking from place to place, and inexpensive rooms. the strip is fun, there are gorgeous hotels and casinos, and i wouldnt turn down a stay at many of them, but i just prefer the atmosphere downtown.

i stayed at the sahara once, which really is no-mans land on the end of the strip, and at the showboat one other time, and the rates were fantastic, but it was either long walk or a cab ride down to the places i like to gamble. i wont do that again, it is all about location, and there are plenty of cheap rooms close to the strip and downtown.

119 is a great rate for the Venetian. I still consider anything over 100 to be too much for Vegas. From descriptions, the Wynne sounds like a great place, but how much time does one really spend in the room in Vegas. I imagine, most people, like myself will get back to their rooms hammered well beyond the point where they are capable of appreciating the fine amenities.

So, anyone interested in doing Vegas early next year? I have a free flight to use.

I'll check with Terry. He likes going to Vegas. Personally, I feel like anyone who flies thousands of miles to go to Vegas to willingly lose money is a moron and an idiot.

I've been getting them from Luxor - a couple per month now.
