I don't now how many hours I spent in my parents' car listening to him (the old Magic 104.3). He seemed old then. I'm surprised he was only 90.

Every time when my dad drove. The trip out to Pittsburgh was brutal as he would wait till the last possible moment to switch over to something else as the static got worse and worse. Can't miss Love potion number 9 after all. That said... I kind of miss those songs sometimes. If you had told be Biondi had died in 2013 at the age of 90 it would not have shocked me.

I still have the capacity to freak out boomers with my knowledge of early 60's pop tunes. If they played it on Magic 104.3 in the early 90's/late 80's, I can at least give you the title of the song within about 30 seconds.

yeah Biondi was generation spanning. I would listen to him with my dad on the way to ball games, 104.3. My dad said he listened to him when he was growing up and my dad is now in his 70s

You might be thinking of when WLS-FM took him off the air a few years ago with health problems. He was doing something like Saturday mornings 5 to 9 like they were doing him a favor.

Same. Worked in a warehouse in 1990 down on 35th by Comiskey, and the stereo was set to 104.3 unless there was a Sox game. I heard the whole catalogue. I thought Dick Biondi was ancient then.

I think my favorite 104.3 song is "Lightning Strikes Again" by Lou Christie. It's just a mistake of music and words, but I love it.

When I think Oldies 104.3, it's "96 Tears," "The Book of Love," "Love Potion #9," and "The Horse." Reminds me of car trips up to Mukwonago, where we also held onto it as far as it would go before my dad gave up and switched to WZTR out of Milwaukee.

"The Wanderer". and "Runaway" as well as for me. I was pretty darn familiar with the whole catalog back in the day, might not know their names but I sure knew the songs. "Love Potion #9" really is burned in the memory though.

It's weird, but I had never heard some of the songs played on heavy rotation before. "The Book of Love," sure. But "I Wanna Be Bobby's Girl," no.
