Mets with a deal to send Mad Max to the Rangers now he has to decide if he will waive his no trade clause

Cardinals starting sell off

Montgomery and Stratton to Rangers.

Hicks to Blue Jays.

Rangers are definitely going all in!

Sounds like the Red Sox are listening on Alex Verdugo. He's a better and cheaper LF bat then the two overpaid, underperforming left fielders on both sides of town here.

Given the fact that the entire division is in contention, the AL East has been really quiet. Every one has been heading out to the NL and AL West.

Yankee fandom has been frustrated for quite a while and it's growing now with Baltimore kicking ass.

They have winnings records, but "in contention" is used pretty loosely there. Boston and the Yankees are 8 and 9 games out of first and the O's and Rays seem to be much better ballclubs.

As a Sox fan, I'd have no problem rooting for the Orioles in October.

As of the time of this post, Boston is 2.5 games back of the last Wild Card spot, the Yankees are 3.5 back, and the Angels are 4 back. The Angels might be delusional, but they clearly think they're in contention. Therefore, I'd say the Red Sox and Yankees are in contention.

Blue Jays trade for Paul DeJong to replace Bichette who tore up his knee. That was the Sox chance to finally foist Jacki on somebody.

So you think the Blue Jays are the only team interested in a SS?

I dont think they will trade him, but there are more teams interested than just the Jays.

Has he ever played any 2nd base?

Well, your market is contenders(buyers) with a gaping hole at SS. It might have been the Dodgers, but they went with an aging Kike rather than a petulant wife cheater.

As Chet pointed out a few days ago, I wonder what the asking price is for Pete Alonso? Watching him hit home runs at Wrigley would be fun. 28 years old. He could be a permanent solution at 1B.

Andrew Chafin going from DBacks to Brewers.

Why in the world are the DBacks trading him? They are right in the middle of the race.

hard to wrap your mind around the pitcher from the Tigers blocking a trade to the Dodgers. you get the hell out of detroit. you got a pennant race. there must be something in his family that keeps him from wanting to leave

Their entire starting staff got hurt this year. They aren't as bad as advertised.

He took time off without pay either earlier this year or last year for some kind of family problem. He may figure that he has generational wealth and doesn't want to move his family to California.

I was very surprised, however, that Detroit didn't have a second trade lined up, given that Rodriquez can't be offered a QO (similar to Stroman) but had a 10 team no trade clause. Hell, the Cubs should have offered Wisdom for him.

He’s in year 2 of a 5 year contract?

I actually like this one. He planned to be there several years. No need for him to revisit his life plan due to the team’s short attention span.
