I'm not liking what I'm reading: Getz to be considered for the GM job and Grifol to be retained. This could be more of a changing of shoes than regimes.

If they move Getz to GM and keep Grifol then all of this is just window dressing and they might as well kept Hahn and KW

White Sox have always been burdened by bad owners since I've followed them. Jerry's "difficult decision" fueled by lack of "cliche" wins but they're still brilliant baseball guys. Going cheap into this tainted in-house with (why wasn't he fired too?) Chris Getz as GM would be typical Jerry. Where's a Reinsdorf kid with a pulse in all this mess?

If JR doesn't recognize that he is a very big part of the problem with the sox (and the bulls for that matter) this team is doomed to repeat its problems.

They need an outsider who is given total control. JR can set budget but everything else needs to be in someone else's hands, from scouting to marketing to field management. These are actually the least expensive items in the business but JR has refused to place any priority on them for his 40+ years.

the truth is, comiskey II is a nice park in a great location. It is accessible by multiple forms of public transportation. It is directly adjacent to multiple expressways. It is on the edge of a nice residential neighborhood. It has its flaws but convenience isn't one of them

The park holds what? 38,000. Which is perfect. the problem was and always will be the 2nd tier of empty skyboxes that drove the upper deck up into the clouds and far away laterally. It's a lot of real estate that isn't used and a lot of real estate that's views are unacceptable. And it's structurally unfixable.

No one wants to hear this. Fenway and Wrigley's UPs are sensational. Build an old style stadium where the UP is right on top of the field. Poles and all. Because underneath that upper deck, those fans AT LEAST have a ground level view, which is better than an upper deck far away and too high for anything resembling a baseball enjoyment experience.

I grew up in Napervile, and this is correct. However, I focus on Bridgeport itself and think it's a pro-cop, neo-nazi shithole. But that's just me!
