The two movies "Svengoolie" are featuring Sunday at the Portage Theater I actually had a chance to watch on his show a few months ago. They were also two of the most common complaints when "Sven", WCIU 26 "The U" & WWME 23 "Me TV" kept airing these Abbott & Costello monster movies over & over again. While it was good to see black & white movies that hadn't aired on free TV in some 25 years or so, not to mention two classic funnymen in Bud Abbott & Lou Costello from back in the day, the constant repetition was actually beyond the control of Rich Koz, WCIU, WWME & parent company Weigel Broadcasting. Koz explained in his "Svengoolie" blog at WCIU.com that NBC Universal set the lineup for the monster movies that were going to air, even if it wasn't necessarily in order. As for this weekend, "Svengoolie" airs the 1998 modern classic "John Carpenter's Vampires" Saturday @ 9p on "The U" & replayed Sunday @ 1a on "Me". Next week, the 1981 classic "The Howling" will be featured...SCARY!!! :pumpkin:

I once heard Richard Milne on WXRT ask Billy Corgan who his Svengoolie was....he meant Svengali...but Billy rolled with it and acted like he said Svengali instead of Svengoolie...and I'm still laughing.

Corrigan probably knows who Svengoolie is. It would have been great if he said Rich Koz.

I'm not so sure Billy Corgan would know who Rich Koz is, let alone "Svengoolie". Then again, most people don't know who "Elvira" really is either. Truth is, Koz is "Svengoolie", and Cassandra Peterson is "Elvira" from that horror movie show she hosted a long, long time ago...

No, Redneck...The place is called Horrorbles, which is a sponsor of "Svengoolie's" show. There is a link at WCIU.com to the store's Web site... Yes, "Sven" does appearances there...

Jerry Bishop is Svengoolie, Rich Koz is Son of Svengoolie: both ripped me off! But my heart is on fire, for Elvira.

Redneck, just so you know, the Horrorbles' link is on the lower right side where "Sven" writes his daily blog on the "Svengoolie" page at WCIU.com. Also, when "Svengoolie" first surfaced on WCIU 26 "The U", Jerry G. Bishop actually gave "Sven" his blessing to drop the "Son of" moniker he used in the pre-FOX years at WFLD 32 under different management.
