Great win. Big things on the horizon for this club!

I remember like it was yesterday, when the Sox signed Jimenez, Moncada and Robert to big money deals. Long term contracts, well before they were close to arbitration even. Frank was all giddy about locking these guys up ( as well as Anderson. Who was actually on a good team friendly deal) while I felt like it was a mistake. Injuries might happen and then you still have to pay big money out for many years, vs just going year to year a bit longer. Plus, it may make players less motivated, because they already are assured of generational wealth. This post is not just about pointing out that perhaps I was right.....that's a given. Seriously, I wonder if Sox fans now feel differently about the team giving out all those long term deals prematurely?

Tim Anderson far outplayed the value of the contract.

Luis Robert has done no worse than played to the value but probably exceeded it. Jimenez as well.

Moncada was already enriched by the Red Sox contract.

They aren't drowning from those contracts.

No, they are not drowning, but that wasn't his point.

Was signing young talent to generational wealth before they had accomplished anything a wise decision?

All indicators so far are that it was not a wise decision.

What is the point? You think they are not motivated to become better in the off season or play when less than 100%?

Elmhurst Steve was right. Sox paid all of these guys early and they got lazy and careless, with Robert being the lone exception.

Ethan Katz is also fucking terrible. There was never prolonged incompetence on this pitching staff while Don Cooper was around. He would be throwing half empty beer bottles at Cease with all the nibbling and walks.

Elmhurst Steve? How about fucking me , caller bob, darkslide, and anyone with a baseball iq of over 1. You're just seeing this now? this was the last 3 years during the supposed white sox world series run.

Unbelievable! You owe an apology to me , caller bob, darkslide, and everyone else who pointed this out the last 4 seasons! I demand an apology from you!

Just fire Grifol and make it a full housecleaning. This is humiliating.

Also, "Darkslide" is growing on me.

JORR is right, this is worse than the tailgating thing. You can't cancel Vanilla Ice, Ton Loc, and Rob Bass when everybody's already there.

533 BBs in 131 games. Gonna catch Oakland for the lead.

Katz has got to go. Because it's inexcusable.

1-1 game, top 8, 2 out nobody on, 0-2 count.

Bummer gives up a single, walk, walk, double. Tell us again how the 3 batter rule made this guy suck, JOrr.

Yup. I'll tune in for a couple innings a game, but if they are playing that lifeless ball, forget it. The double-play to end the game was so White Sox.

Bummer is so bad. He gets destroyed at least once a week.

So glad he appeared to be the reliever they most valued.

Everyone in the league, from superstars on down, seem to be ok with playing multiple positions. For some reason Moncada, who came up as a second baseman, gets to have 3rd on lockdown without any questions, even though we had a surplus at 3rd and nothing at 2nd. He's very good defensively at the position but so are a lot of other people in the league at theirs. You'd think he'd welcome some positional versatility, because I don't see who would want him in the future purely as a 3rd baseman. He just doesn't have the bat.

Playing second requires you to move distances several times throughout the game . You think the way that lazy fuck plays would make that a tenable option ?

If a manager can maintain his job after 100 losses, to me, that's the manager of the year.
