For a short second I thought that was were Gary Barnett started his career but that was Fort Lewis (Same conference). But in a quick look.. Don't mess with the Mines.

Colorado School of Mines - University of Denver War
Tensions between the Colorado School of Mines and the University of Denver, locked in a bitter rivalry, boiled over in 1919 when the Orediggers heard of a plot to deface the M. In retaliation to the plot, students from the Colorado School of Mines planted bundles of dynamite on the DU campus which, when detonated in the early morning, blew out windows in many buildings, and cracked the DU administration building. The chancellor of DU stated "“If all the dynamite planted on our campus had exploded simultaneously, it would have knocked down our buildings and destroyed life."

The Colorado School of Mines students paraded their prisoners down the streets of Golden and implemented armed patrols of Mount Zion, claiming the right to search all vehicles for concealed DU students. CSM President, Victor C. Alderson, gave official sanction to the actions of the Colorado School of Mines students; however, Colorado governor Oliver Shoup asked the schools to seek a truce. Representatives from both schools agreed to cease and opted for a game of football to settle the conflict. The game was played on a snowy day and resulted in an 0-0 tie.

VJJ struggled to learn the playbook last year as well. Is it really that difficult to remember the plays? :?

Have heard several of the WR's talk about how difficult this offense is to learn, still not sure if Claypool knows the playbook, but he rarely plays, so hard to tell.

Brisker sounds like he already has CTE. I would worry if he was asked to remember anything beyond his name. Scott strikes me as a bright guy, so I won't read much into it

It seems like there could be a couple problems here. Is the offense too complicated for the receivers, or is it not being taught well enough? Alternately, how do you not know what to do on a basic bubble screen play when that has been a focal point for several weeks during training camp?

I wouldn't read too much into it either if it weren't a seemingly recurring problem for the Bears. They still don't look smooth enough on screen plays in general, and Scott's confusion on this play in particular is a problem since (as you said) he seems like a very smart guy and Getsy has emphasized screens so much in practice. Does Getsy know what he is doing?

I think so. Beyond Fields, there's a lot of questions on offense that haven't been answered. I thought we may lose Morgan after this year, but the offensive line hasn't looked good.

Mooney not knowing Scott's responsibility concerns me more.

They really love the game.

If it gets you into a good school you otherwise wouldn't get accepted to, it is a good tradeoff. I don't know if that is true with any of these schools.

And none of this has anything to do with what he is doing now.

He played well enough to get the QB2 job.

Exactly. I can't remember the last time we had someone who grabbed a roster spot with a great camp.

Fields has godly physical tools, he's built like a DE, but this kid looked like a better quarterback.

Houston-Carson was cut by the ravens. I would like to have him back. I don't like our S depth. He was usually pretty good in spot situations and great at special teams

Lawson was a FA this offseason and would be the Bears best defensive lineman(low bar). It's amazing how bad this defensive line is despite an offseason of cap space and draft picks. Quite a feat by Ryan Poles.

#Bears are acquiring OL Dan Feeney from the #Dolphins via trade, per a source. Uncertain what the compensation is at this point, but Feeney is on his way and will provide depth for the interior of the line.

First time I’ve ever heard the guy’s name, but I’m not expecting much when a good team dumps a guy.

He also apparently loves high school-level defensive and offensive schemes.

that nate davis signing looks bad right now and is having a domino effect

did they do no background check on the guy?

Isn’t this more of a Jenkins-injury play than a Nate Davis might be an asshole play?

Poles is a former offensive lineman so he should be an expert in that area. He signed Lucas Patrick who's done squat and he signed Nate Davis who apparently doesn't like football, and now he panicked and traded a pick for a guy who was going to be released. What a clown show

He also seemed to do try his hardest last summer to alienate Jenkins, who was probably their best lineman last season.

a guy who, if he really liked him, he could have signed in free agency

I don't want to bitch too much, because we needed the help on the line. Sixth seems steep for a person in this situation. However, he is exactly the kind of person they needed with starting experience at both guard (specifically left guard) and center

Doesn't this also scream the injuries on the line are worse than they are leading on to? As bad as Leatherwood was, don't you still prefer him to whoever was out there the last three weeks?

The priority of this offseason was signing off the ball linebackers that will be on their ass most of this game behind this div 2 defensive line. Poles has an odd approach to roster construction to say the least.

Unless Fields or Bagent shocks the world, we are headed for a top 3 or 4 pick in the draft. The problem is that Arizona is tanking harder than the Bears, so it seems like it will be impossible to get Caleb Williams.

Only hope is that the Cardinals take away Kyler's Xbox until he plays better and he lights up the league for 3-4 games.
