our interests are aligned for the next few years so we should keep a close watch on them appropriately placed in the Bears thread

Their offensive line has been awful. Their defense should be solid.

I think Bryce Young is going to suck.

His fundamentals are really good, and he can run. I'm not sure he'll be great, but I would be surprised if he sucked for his career.

It seems like he'l be no worse than good in the long run if he can avoid injury. Let's hope he has a very rocky transition to the NFL. He already has a better understanding/sense of his position than Fields does. But the same can be said for just about any other QB in the NFL, even the hapless and hopeless Mitch (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky.

Some of you guys have watched enough of Young to know this stuff already?

Mully and Haugh said the Bears are somewhere between a 7-10 and 10-7 team earlier this morning.

I think they are much closer to duplicating their 3-14 season from a year ago than they are 10-7. The defensive and offensive lines are still in disarray, and Fields has yet to demonstrate that he has significantly improved. If the Bears can get to 7 wins, they will have had a very good--and likely very healthy--season.

The division sucks so bad that it will take some luck for them not to win 5 or more games which will maybe get you a top 10 pick.

If the wheels totally fall off and Young gets hurt and misses a significant number of games it could be top 5, but you can say the same thing about the Bears.

Poles loves to trade down and acquire picks, but if Fields does not show he's developing you almost have to pick another one early next year.

The QB class next season is way better than last years group, so it will be a rare opportunity to take a shot at a true QB1 prospect and maybe 2-3 other guys with first round talent. Several guys will put up huge numbers, but will not play a solid defense all year long, only the SEC QB's will consistently face NFL caliber defensive talent.

Was interesting to watch the North Carolina vs South Carolina game, both teams just ran the exact same plays over and over, you could almost call the play when you saw the formation and personnel, but the opposing DC either did not or could not adjust.

You will not find those type of talent mismatches in the NFL.

Bucs are taking for a shot at Williams or Maye.
Carolina in the first year of a rebuild
Atlanta is at best a .500 team and only because they play in the NFC South
Saints will be without Kamara a few weeks, but look to be the best of a sad group.

Did look at several sites and they had Carolina beating the Bears in week 10, not a ton of respect out there for the beloved this season.

NFC South gets the similarly terrible AFC South and NFC North this year.

The one year the Bears need another team to be awful, that team has the good fortune of playing the worst conferences in the sport.

This is one of the many voices in my head. Wouldn't it make much more sense for the Bears to tank again this year knowing that their ceiling this year is a playoff berth. Force Fields to pass and if he really does develop into a solid passer who can consistently hit 300 yards and minimal INTs, have a balanced draft to fix the DL and keep building up the OL.

The Bears don't need Carolina to be terrible. They will be terrible all on their own.

I think the Saints will win 10+ games and the Buccaneers won't be far behind. The Falcons will be near .500. I don't really have a read on the Panthers, but I expect them to be the worst of the bunch.

Very small, these guys are in for a reality check after leaving Bama.. no more lopsided talent all over the field and all day to throw. I think mac jones gets benched by mid-season for Tua

The NFL prospect list of first rounders QB seemed to expand over the weekend. Bears won't need the first or second pick to get a great qb

I’m not sold on Maye.

I think Williams is the only guy that matters at the position. There are a bunch of solid college QBs out there that’ll be over drafted.

You didn't like Sanders, or Travis, or Pennix or Nix or Altmyer

In order:
1) No, not sold
2) A little…he had a fine year last year…could bump up if the LSU thing wasn’t a fluke
3) hard pass, no
4) didn’t like at auburn; don’t like more now that he’s an 8th year senior in an easier conference
5) I’ve never heard of that man in my life.

I would be wary of Pennix. Very gifted athlete, but there always seems to be an injury or something come up with him. I would pass.

I love Maye's feel for the game and his instincts. You can't teach that. You also can't teach 6'4" either. I could understand someone preferring him over Williams. I would probably prefer Maye over Williams. Like a Jameis Winston, Williams holds the ball too long waiting for receivers to get open. His athleticism and physique will only go so far at the next level.
