Ngakoue got his customary 1 coverage sack per game and the was invisible the remainder of the game. I'm seeing why he' on his 10th team in 3 years.

He also had a big hit TFL. He had a good game. He is just a mercenary though.

I don't understand why fans are always so protective of Bears starting quarterbacks. We haven't developed one in 100 years! Why should we have faith in Fields?!?!

Well yeah, I mean just look at all that pressure that was in his face on the pick 6

There are 3 guys in that video who are open waiting to catch a pass 5 yards short of the line to gain. Fields knows if there is not a first down game, the game is unequivocally over. The Packers are essentially daring him to throw down the field, but he only has two options to do so. Of course he is staring at one target who is one of two Bears players on the field that would catch a first down pass. If he checks down to Kmet or the RB, you would be all "wHy iS hE tHrOwInG a 5 yArD PaSs oN 3rd & 11," and you wouldn't be wrong.

The Getsy/Eberflus game plan was a joke. The OLine sucked. The front four got no pressure. When Fields did have time to make a play, he didn't do anything with his arm. Short of a guy needing CPR on the field or getting paralyzed, this was about the worst thing that has happened for the Bears in a long time. This was an organizational failure from top to bottom. Johnson and Santos were the only guys worth a damn yesterday.

He was a mid-second round talent for a reason. Bears drafted him because of one college game.

I think Fields is bad but also it wasn’t that much on him yesterday. It was a total team effort they sucked so much.

Not true. He was beating his blocker pretty good in this game. He's a good player.

I've been a Herbert fan for years, but that Johnson kid is coming. I see no reason why Foreman is on the team.

Mully mentioned yesterday that it may be broken and he could end up playing with a club in a few weeks.

Eberflus continues to tolerate half ass efforts from his highest paid guys, Eddie Jackson should be a veteran presence that helps the young guys line up, but he blows his assignment all the time, and is pathetic in run support, he got paid and has coasted for the past several years.

Teams are simply taking advantage of Eberflus on defense, he must know you cannot run cover 2 without good players up the middle of your defense, the three tech is key to the D, is Justin Jones even on the roster for a good team?

Poles and Eberflus decided they would go into the season with marginal NFL talent on both lines, you saw the result on Sunday.

Marginal *NFL* talent? These guys aren't qualified to be backups at Georgia. Its sub-replacement level at every position except maybe Cody Whitehair, who only distinguishes himself by being replacement level.

When you step back and take a look at the way the Bears and Packers approach roster construction, especially when it comes to drafting lineman, you quickly see why the game looked the way it did on Sunday.

The Packers have invested several first round picks on the D line and frequently draft d line early. The Bears D line is made up of free agents that other teams deemed expendable.

The Packers have built their O line via the draft, used second round picks at center and guard, and draft lineman in the first four rounds consistently.

The interior of the Bears O line consists of two free agents and an aging vet, they did finally invest an early pick at OT, and that kid graded out the highest on Sunday.

Would any of the Bears players on either line start for the Packers?

Is there any wonder the Bears were dominated on both lines?

the players see the problems before anyone else. when jf cant even throw to wide open guys, the linemen arent going to be very motivated. i bet if you watched the tape you can see where they gave up. the game was close until the 3rd, which is probably when the line said fuck this shit.

Johnson runs with a fierceness and power we haven't seen around here in quite some time. He will likely be the starter by game 4 or 5. He will be great a softening the defense up for Herbert's runs to the outside.

Actually, Fields is the one who seemed to give up. The level of his focus seemed to begin waning by the late 3rd quarter.

He turns petulant after the interception and it carries over to the post game press conference. Lucky for him basically the whole team quit and there's so much blame to go around that it has this way of diffusing negative attention from any one player. That dynamic isn't going to last all year.

I went back and watched the game again last night. I think you are largely correct.

Nevertheless, it looked to me like the Bears didn't do much to vary or disguise or shift out of their looks post-snap for most of the game. They made things very easy for Love from a schematic perspective. The defensive game plan was pure vanilla.

I mean to quote a post of yours where you said it was going to be another season of bad Oline play and no pass rush from the front four with the Bears, but I could not find the post. I know you weren't exactly going out in a big tree limb in saying this, but essentially what you said word for word is what happened on Sunday. I wanted you to be wrong, but you were not.

By year 2 at least you saw the influence of Lovie on defense. It's hard to believe the head coach is a defensive guy, they suck so much on that side of the ball. Just a terrible hire.

Lovie had established studs in the back 7 and Tommie Harris.

Eberflus on the other hand is loaded with excuses why his defense is still worst in the NFL
