Say what you want about Mike Tomlin but he’s not stupid and doesnt want guys that arent going to play hard . Red flags shouldve been out on that trade .

Claypool's performance in that game was awful and that screen play told me a lot about him. HE was clearly just going through the motions on that play and on every play he was involved in that game.

I'm done with Claypool.

He's not a guy going forward. That lack of effort on the screen play yesterday was atrocious.

The route running is what created space for Mooney on the touchdown.

I really don't understand the Claypool hate. It's really odd. When healthy, he was always open last year or causing DPI's when targeted. Everyone wants to manufacture reasons to dislike him because of the pick that was used on him.

During pre-game introductions the Bears announce more than 11 starters on offense so there weren't hurt feelings ron reserves such as Claypool according to Silvy

Bob, you haven't watched any film. You saw a play that he looked bad on. There's a weird obsession with trying to confirm a manufactured bias about Claypool.

What did you compare it to? Was his route that opened up space late in the game for Mooney's touchdown included?

Who cares. Including that route doesn't excuse a blatant lack of effort on multiple other plays. EQ can run the same route and at least give a shit.

Now you're just talking out the side of your ass because someone told you not to like Claypool. He dropped a tipped short pass and missed a block. I imagine if someone focused on every Bears receiver, they'd see plays that we're not perfect. The same would likely be true for every starter on every team. So save the propaganda.

Not joining bizarre groupthink isn't "White Knighting".

This isn't groupthink. Look at that clip. Look at it and tell me this is a guy worth rostering. Look at it and honestly ask yourself if you don't see a guy who doesn't care. If he isn't hurt, that amount of apathy is cut-worthy. ESB is actually willing to block and he had the same number of catches that claypool did yesterday, by not playing.

Claypool is going to end up being traded for a higher 2nd round pick than Rodgers was

I saw the clip. Only a person who is seeking confirmation for bad thoughts thinks that is proof of anything. Again, have you isolated the play of whatever receiver you like? Did they play a perfect game? Did they run every route like their lives depended on it? Did you ask yourself why you didn't see the entire play on the two routes he jogged and turned around on?

I sincerely don't understand why video evidence of a guy straight up quitting on blocks and routes doesn't bother you. Especially when said guy has nothing to offer in terms of a counter argument.

I did the work for you. Here is what you are banging the drum for.

You asked three questions in this thread. One was why Matt Canada employed. The second was if I compared claypool's all 22 to something. The third was whether claypool's route contributed to the Mooney TD. I don't know who Matt Canada is so i don't know. No, I have not compared claypools viral all-22 disaster to anything else because it doesn't matter. Claypool's route probably did influence the Mooney TD, but I'm not sure that some other replacement level WR couldn't have done the same.

that clip looks like he wasn't even trying. like he was on weed before the game. how do the bears coaches react? If the avg guy at home can see that how can the bears coaches not?

The clip shows he missed 2 blocks. He's been one of the best blocking receivers his entire career. The 2 routes say nothing.

He didn't miss. It is obvious that he did not try.

Is it? What did he do on his other blocks? Have you watched the blocking of every other receiver?

Is this honestly your argument? I should try to find examples of other guys who suck and quit?

When you're claiming a guy quit because of 2 bad blocks out of dozens, you should have someond else to compare him to. Unless the standard is Claypool is the only guy who has to execute perfectly on each play.

Shouldn't Poles be managing the team? How do give up as much treasure as we did for Claypool and Davis and allow them to pull this shit since training camp. Both of these guys are cancers. The way things are going I don't think the coach or GM will last long in this city.

Does seem the Nagy like approach to the pre season has come back to bite several teams in the ass, especially the Bears who somehow thought they could sit all the starters for a majority of the exhibition games.

It seems that all the old school coaches who always talk about the need for pre season game reps for your offensive lineman are correct, you could see the lack of timing and preparation from offensive lines across the league.

The performance from the interior of the Bears offensive line was a great example of what happens when you plug in a marginal NFL player as your starting center with no pre season reps, let a guy sit out the entire preseason, seems the defensive lineman who tend to be large and angry men are very happy to punch unprepared guys in the mouth.

You rarely see an NFL offensive line look as bad as the Bears did against the Packers, totally unprepared to play, you could see this coming from a mile away and it will not get any better against Vea and the Bucs. You will have to double Vea all game long as he will easily push Patrick back into the QB's lap all day long, the thing is that he will likely push Patick and Davis or Whitehair back into the QB's lap even if the double team him, so you will get one on ones on the outside and will be able to bring a LB up the middle all game long, it will be a long day for Justin Fields who already looks like he is ready to pull a hamstring and sit a few games out.
