I don't get the hate for them. Getsy adjusted his offense last season to fit a very flawed quarterback, and it scored a lot of points. Eberflus had the team in nearly every game, even after the GM traded everything away. They even made solid halftime adjustments. Now, we want to run them out of town, even though the roster doesn't have much talent. There are more signs that they may be good than there are that Fields will become an average passer.

What do you expect when they serve up a shit sandwich after having the entire offseason to prepare for their biggest rival at home?

The team looked no where near ready to play on Sunday.

I'm not ready to run them out of town but as professionals what happened on Sunday was inexcusable. You can be organized, well coached, disciplined, prepared, and still lose. That's fine. But they were none of the above on Sunday (except the losing part). So that's what I think the criticism is about.

I don't disagree that the team looked like shit Sunday, but firing them is an extreme overreaction, imo.

Several players quit on Eberflus on Sunday, but instead of yanking them from the game he let them continue to go through the motions which sent a strong message to the younger players on the team.

Really hard to sell your HITS crap when your starters at WR and OG are handed starting jobs despite not showing up for work during the pre season and then are kept in the game despite giving less than full efforts, a better coach would have yanked Claypool after his "lookout" block and gone to Carter at guard after Davis whiffed repeatedly early in the game.

His lack of leadership and preparation could quickly devolve into a Trestman type collapse and a very short NFL head coaching career.

He does however excel at making up football specific motivational speaker type catch phrases, making up acronyms for those catch phrases, and then giving goofy takes on football using said acronyms.

You don't get the hate for them? They haven't won a game in 11 months. This is Trestman Part 2

When trying to put the final touches on a billion dollar stadium deal, you prefer your team to not be the laughing stock of the NFL. Would not be surprised to see Kevin Warren to launch both Poles and Eberflus after the season

There's a near 0% chance this would happen.

Fields staying healthy and losing to the Packers was worse than the jets having Rodgers getting acl on the first drive.

That's the common perception, but Dan Wiederer said that only two teams have been blown out by 16+ points more often than Eberflus (7 times).

Warren was hired with the help of Poles. Warren's focus is a stadium deal. George or Mama Bear wouldn't allow him to fire Poles.

I know what the final score may say, but the Bears were competitive until the last 3 games. You could argue Sunday was a continuation of that trend. I hope that isn't the case, even though I expect them to lose on Sunday and against the Chiefs.

This is Emery/Treatment level bad. You are living in an alternate Bears reality

No, you're just doing your Caller Bob thing. Emery and Trestman took a good team and ran it into the toilet. The Bears are rebuilding. They had virtually no talent when Poles and Eberflus arrived, and now they have some. They need more, but you can see some light at the end of the tunnel.

If you simply look at the roster when Poles arrived and compare it to what we have now, there is no way anyone could say the roster isn't improved.

There is no light at the end of the tunnel until we start seeing acquisitions and draft picks performing at a high level. That isnt happening yet. Add the awful preparation from everyone in the organization last Sunday and there is a lot more reason for concern than optimism at this point.

Nas will twist himself into a pretzel to place the blame solely on Fields

Poles has the mindset is that he will wait to draft a guy that fits his size/athleticism concept of what a player should be for each position rather than sign an aging vet to a big paper deal just to plug a weakness. He has signed second, third, or fourth tier FA's to fill key slots on both lines, even Poles must realize this is an idiotic approach to roster building, that is why it seems he is content with losing a ton of games this season and has been targeting next year all along.

He also has a very odd approach to player accountability, not sure if he leaves that to Eberflus, but the Bears continue to trot out guys the give half ass efforts, really not sure why they think that is a good idea given the example it sets for the younger players.

George still has the final say and the one thing we have learned about him is that he always makes the wrong decision, so hoping Warren can be the much needed adult in the room when it comes to future GM/HC hires.

Do wonder what an experienced HC would do with this roster, they likely would jettison the Cover 2 base and go to a one gap system to allow the LB's to flow and support in the run game, you likely would not see Jackson, Claypool, Davis, Patrick, and Whitehair on the roster as you could plug in mid level vets much cheaper with at least replacement level production.

You are fake news! You will go out of your way not to be critical of Fields. I acknowledged the entire team looked awful and that it was a worse loss than anything we saw last year.

There's been no improvement by Fields in three years. He's still the same, one dimensional player. The one thing coaches always tell their QBs is not to throw late over the middle, but Fields still did it anyway and threw the pick six. It's not a mistake you should see at the NFL level.

That's enough reason to get rid of the coaches because if Eberfluss and Getsy cannot develop their quarterback with all the time they've put into him, they cannot develop anyone. It's either that or Fields is not coachable or is just dumb.

The Bears coaches created game plans designed to keep the games somewhat close rather than win. That's part of the reason they ran so much on 2nd/3rd and long. They were running out the clock and limiting offensive opportunities for their opponents even as they were giving up on a lot of drives themselves.

I think a similar game plan would lead to more victories this year. Sunday's game plan was too ambitious for this team.

You obviously cannot block the middle, so you are limited to what you can run offensively, so why not tailor your game plan to what might actually work.

Would start every game with an easy completion to the back or TE, get Fields on the move have him roll right and give him a back in the flat and a TE crossing at 5-7 yards, this gets him in rhythm and sets up your outside zone run game.

Play the most competent RG you have on the roster and run behind your rookie RT with your best blocking TE, use your bigger back and attack where you have the best chance to succeed.

They have to hammer away in the run game, it is the only thing they can do right now given the incompetent interior pass protection and the propensity of the QB to hold the ball and take sacks. You should be able to run short out routes on the weakside as you establish your strong side outside zone run game, and there will be an occasional deep opportunity on play action, the question is if you can get Fields to get the ball out on time, that is not a question you should have about him at this point in his career, but that is the stark reality you have given what he showed you last Sunday.

Eberflus, Nagy, Fox, Trestman... Fields, (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky, Cutler... doesn't matter. Similar to the Sox, the organization is rotten.

In the last decade, the Bears are 28th in the league for wins. If it wasn't for the somewhat miraculous 12-4 in 2018, they'd be even lower.
