I'm already starting to doubt the quarterback they take in the 2024 draft.

This franchise's fortunes would have been been so much better if they had done what needed to be done and gone and got Harbaugh in January of 2022. Harbaugh made a Superbowl with a similar athletic (but flawed) QB in Kaepernick. He would have installed the same Greg Roman style offense that even made Lamar Jackson successful.

On the defensive side of the ball, I'm guessing he would have made a call to his pal Vic Fangio and brought him back to Chicago. Yes aging players like Mack and Quinn would still have had to been replaced but the defense wouldn't be a disaster like it is now.

Yes the Bears, well were the Bears. George couldn't pull off a power play like this. He really is a failure. I think even his Mother, (a devout Catholic) would admit he should have been an Abortion. Like most her children. It really is the NFL's version of the White Sox.

Even if Fields is a disaster, I don't see them drafting a QB in 2024 unless they get #1 overall in that case they go Caleb Williams. The other QB's aren't sure things. I think Warren will put his foot on Poles throat and demand he get this team to 10-7 caliber(tough to sell a new stadium with a dog shit team) so they will likely go Lineman in the draft and then find a Garoppolo type to be a QB placeholder.

They'll have 2 first round picks. One is a lock to be a QB unless Fields improves or Bagent impresses Purdy-style.

The problem is, unless it's Caleb Williams the other QB's probably suck. Would they have the balls to draft another QB first round from North Carolina?

George owns this, he decided to keep Pace for two more years which created the cap and draft capital hell the team was in two years ago.

Poles has not shown much ability yet, if you start to see some of the guys he has drafted improve and the team is improving toward the end of the year you will have some optimism.

A few years in gives you a little perspective, he obviously hated the DB group he inherited because he has used tons of early draft capital on defensive backs, seems he would have been better off picking a lineman with one of those picks, he could have signed a vet DB which would have given you a bit of leadership on the back end. Eddie Jackson is stealing money, interesting to hear several former players call him out, he certainly is not providing the veteran leadership or the production you expect from a guy making that kind of paper.
