Used to think lawyers were fairly smart people, but after interacting with several of them both personally and professionally I have learned that is not true.

Some rather interesting interactions while acting as an expert witness in medical suits, almost felt like I should have contacted the lawyer after and offered some advice on avenues of attack for the case she did not even consider.

Well, July passed the bar. That alone has gotta be a rough rationalization for a proud lawyer....Wait a sec, proud lawyer????

Anyways, this post is probably billable.

I speak with lawyers day in and day out across the country and you couldn't be more right. I also attend Bar association meeting across the country and am generally underwelmed. That said, I've met tons of great ones too. I WILL SAY that i'm more impressed with Chicago attorneys that most of the attorneys I deal with elsewhere.

It's like any other job. Doesn't matter what it is you'll find some idiots doing it. And you'll find some incredibly smart people as well.


I've run into plenty of idiot attorneys over the years. I have a case now vs a guy who I'm sure needs help getting dressed and crossing the street if there's traffic. The guy is making my cases very difficult with his idiocy. I have no doubt I'm going to crush him at trial, but if I could swap him out for a genius attorney I would in a heart beat. Maybe then these cases wouldn't be going to trial as anyone not a moron can see that I'm going to destroy whoever they put in front of me for these particular cases.


From my experience of dealing with doctors for the past 30 years I'd say that there are far more moron doctors than there are moron attorneys.

i just found out my internist left his family practice and moved to the local hospital to practice. Found out he embezzled half a mil from the family practice and when confronted about it, just said, i'm outta here.
