I think it is a shot across the bow to Fields . You wanna let it rip ? be you and all that crap thats led to 12 straight losses ? Fine go ahead . When it inevitably goes south because you suck, your replacement is right here.

Nice. Clearly means they feel like Bagent is ready to be the backup if/when needed.

Benny Hill theme music seems appropriate.

Getting prepared to send fields to NY for Rodgers, while simultaneously starting the 3rd string QB in hopes of another 1st overall pick.

Its very possible they start Fields the rest of the season to go for the 1st overall. Injuries keep piling up and the locker room must be a complete shit show by now. The thing that scares the shit out of me now is they will somehow come together over this and accidentally back into 2-3 wins blowing the chance for Caleb.

That's exactly what it is. They put the worst quarterback in NFL history behind him so he would be comfortable. He decided to take a shot at the organization and now they applied pressure. Good for Poles.

A baguette is a long, thin type of bread of French origin that is commonly made from basic lean dough. It is distinguishable by its length and crisp crust. A baguette has a diameter of about 5 to 6 centimetres and a usual length of about 65 cm, although a baguette can be up to 1 m long.

If, and this is a big if, Bagent comes in and runs the offense competently you learn that it really was Fields all along and you lose Fields totally because it is highly unlikely that he will be able deal with losing his job to an UDFA.

One of the ongoing failures of this organization is that they just hand out starting jobs and seem afraid to bring in real competition, Bagent just kind of fell into their lap and it actually should be quite embarrassing that an undrafted guy can grasp your offense better than your third year QB1.

Did find one of the preseason sideline interactions between Fields and Bagent interesting as it looked like Fields tried to point out the open guy and Baqent shook his head and pointed elsewhere, Fields just put his head down and gave us a preview of the dazed and confused look we have seen from him in the first two weeks of the season.

When you watched the preseason games the speed at which the ball came out was noticeably different between Fields and Bagent, Bagent came from a high tempo college offense predicated on quick reads and taking what the D was giving on each particular play. His arm talent will limit him in the NFL, but we have learned that you can have guys with arm talent at the QB position, but a five-cent head negates a million-dollar arm.

The thing is that Fields seems intelligent, he's not Devin Hester. But he's not intuitive about throwing, and his arm doesn't seem strong enough to run the Air Coryell/Al Davis style chuck it deep enough to keep them from ever sending 5 offense.

Nuggets are back for a limited time. Get 'em while they're hot.

But why treat Peterman like a turd? It's a terrible look, managerially.

Yeah, but Peterman didn't exactly have another option. John Gruden is out of the league.

I'm assuming he is. There is no other reason for him to be on the roster outside of making Fields comfortable.

This wasn't much of a warning shot if that's what it was meant to be. I am now doubting that's what it was.

They didn't make another move. Were they trying to get him to the practice squad and learned another team was going to claim him?

Who cares? At this point, how could it possibly hurt making Bagent QB2? How on Earth do you persuade Justin to put on the big boy pants this way?

That seems more likely. Realistically, if they wanted to put additional pressure on Fields, they could have simply promoted Bagent to #2.

Whenever he becomes active on game day, you know the Fields watch has begun. He's probably a few more games away.

Probably after the bye (-bye Fields) week.

The worst thing that can happen is that Bagent looks decent in a handful of games, Poles convinces himself that he has found the QB of the future, and thus he trades out of the #1 overall spot in the draft yet again.

I think the plug could be pulled on Fields after the Commanders game. I'm not sure if Bagent will be acclimated to the league yet, but it would give him 10 days to prepare for the Vikings at home. If not October 15th, then November 19. You want more than 4 or 5 late season games to determine if Bagent is the next Tony Romo.

IF the Bears decide to go to Bagent, I don't think you can go back to Fields. October 31st is the trade deadline. He's probably gone if they move on.

The situation is fluid. For all we know, Denver may win by 30.
