ESPN and 670

I have not listened to ESPN lately, but that is not true about 670. Every host has said this is not working out and that Fields is a major problem.

They're doing that thing they did with Nagy and (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky. They're trying hard to blame everyone except Fields. They only turned on Nagy after he wouldn't start Fields. That was actually one of the best decisions Nagy ever made. Then he caved to media and fan pressure.

I meant ESPN National

Aren't Holmes, Leila, Bernstein still on the "Bears are ruining Fields" train, which presumes Fields still has something to offer were it not for being on the Bears?

I feel like Nagy was forced to start Fields.

The fans and media forced him to do it. His game plan was criminal, though. You're going to be sitting with the fans if you're listening to them.

Painful to agree with a Reinsdorf quote.

It's mostly coaching as the reason why this team has failed thus far. Where was the offensive game plan changed? Getsy needs to be fired as soon as possible. Instead of writing up a game plan that is tailored to Fields gifts(Yes I said GIFTS), it was the same shit running plays to nowhere and virtually no play action. The few times that they did it, it worked pretty well.

With half the game being garbage time . Nothing to do with Fields
though.

Again this dude talks as if Fields never said he doesn't like info or data or thinking or "pocket stuff". He keeps asking why the Bears aren't asking him to do more mentally and why the passing concepts are so simple. It's like he prefers to ignore Fields confession last week because it undermines his narrative that Fields is world class but isn't being coached correctly.

He knows how to stay on the radio. Be cautiously optimistic about the "franchise" QB and don't stray too far from your hosts" talking points.

The best thing a score host could do right now is constantly scream the bears should be building a stadium in Gary in

This is why Mitch is going gangbusters now that he’s out of the organization. Because they ruined him.

Maybe this incredibly stupid opinion is pervasive enough that the bears can con somebody into trading anything of value for the guy.

Add Chase Daniels to the list of apologists. I think their apologizing is driven by Bernstein/Holmes/Parkins/Spiegals pro Fields stance. I know Spiegal has moderated his stance a little bit recently. Jenkins and Daniels know a pro Fields stance means more airtime, exposure and future work at least in Chicago. When Fields ultimately leaves the team they'll just mimic whatever narrative the station has to toe the line.

Kurt Warner is the only honest QB analyst on the station. He tells the truth but tells it politely. He recently praised Mahomes not for his arm or accuracy or speed but for "knowing what's going on". It was an indirect way of saying Fields still can't see the field and process what's going on.

I have no interest in anything the QB with two first names has to say. I don't think he believes it. He's playing to the Fields Cult.

Maybe a bit ironic, we attended the Bears / Raiders London game in 2019 and were on the "wives & girlfriends" bus returning to the hotel after the game. Chase Daniel's wife (he played because Mitch was injured) was on that bus. Word got to us that she was upset because all she heard on the bus was people complaining about how badly Chase played.
