Im not though. You supposedly have the most dynamic qb in Bears history. This can can escape pressure and break off a run and he is supposed to be your franchise qb (or he's not) so what do you do man... you put it on the guy to win it or lose it. You put it in fields to win it. And he couldn't. He even was given two bites at the apple. Once they were down 3 all he had to do to get into a winnable ot situation was get in field goal range. He had time, he had a timeout, let's see if he can 2 minute drill into at least an ot game... and he couldn't.

The second half play calling was bad, and the second half lack of defensive adjustments to what Sean Payton was doing differently was worse. Once it got to 28-21 the dread sets in and everyone starts choking.

Any kind of competent coach keeps it at 31-13 and then maybe gives up a late TD in prevent and still wins 31-20.

The scoop and score was on a naked bootleg. A type of play that Fields was quoted during the broadcast as asking the staff to include for him. Players going out of bounds when the clock needed to run, taking an intentional grounding penalty, not scheming or creating a pass rush, no ball security, it goes on. Having to play Borom since other acquisitions are hurt/unavailable, five penalties on rookie right tackle, etc...This is a team loss. It's a shit show top to bottom.

I don't know that 100% of the loss is on Fields, but I know for sure to say that it is all the coach's fault is just silly.

You don't get to be completely stymied in the 2nd half, literally hand the team down 2 scores a a 7 point gift wrap, take an awful grounding penalty when it's score or lose, then throw a terrible INT straight to the defense to clinch the loss, without wearing a good amount of blame. I don't care about the yards and TDs, your opponent was trash, and you don't get extra points for beating tomato cans if you're a team's #1 overall.

That really is a stupid title for this thread. The loss was due to terrible play calling in the 2nd half and stupid penalties which cost them first downs and cut drives short. It took away from a very good performance by Fields and his receivers. the coaching staff sucks.
