To be fair up until yesterday not sure what any of these receivers could do to stand out except block and run routes. They certainly weren't catching anything because fields never threw anything.

His effort level on the field has nothing to do with Fields.

The Claypool trade is a damning indictment of Ryan Poles, he obviously did not do his due diligence on the player, and was laughed at around the league for giving up a second-round pick on a dude that the Steelers had identified as an underachiever.

It was an early indication that Poles and his staff were not real good at pro personnel scouting, and were looking for guys with physical traits rather than productive football players, this also impacts college level scouting as they keep drafting DBs because he wants to wait around to draft lineman that fit his desired lengthy/athleticism traits. He is somehow able to reconcile filling some key offensive and defensive line spots with third tier FA's for several years as he waits for his ideal draft pick to materialize, sitting on tons of cap room while his QB is getting killed and his defense gets destroyed at the line of scrimmage every Sunday.

The theory is Green Bay wanted him and had an offer in. Therefore, Poles wanted him.

The Patriots were in on him but for significantly less. They were offering a 3rd

Great, another GM who can get easily spooked by rumor into giving up way more than they should.

The Packers offered a 2nd and 4th. From Claypool to Fields to Thieving Mack, outbidding the Packers, Vikings, and 49ers hasn't worked in our favor.

Also a total of 8 sacks in the intervening 20 games. Almost half of those 8 sacks (3) came in one game in 2022.

Put differently, he's had precisely 2 multi-sack games since being traded.

Sacks don't basically count when the victim is a rookie playing his first game, you'd expect to sack him a ton. Indirectly this is what makes Fields sacks so bad - he's getting sacked as if he's a rookie instead of a third year player with a ton of starting experience under his belt.

Fields hasn't regressed. He's playing the same way he did last year. Except for the broncos game.

Agreed, he is what he is at this point, the rest of the league knows him better than the Bears coaching staff does.

Hearing apologists say that Fields, Eberflus, and Getsy are all learning and growing, these guys have been in the league for years, they should be way beyond where they are right now.

Sick and tired of the Bears hiring inexperienced head coaches that cannot attract quality veteran assistant coaches, the Bears should be a premiere big city franchise, but they aim small when they hire coaches and GMs.

Little smug master bs artist Nagy was easy to hate. Praising Bears culture, work ethic, leadership, and even praising great Saturday night team meetings after getting trounced on Sunday. He excelled spewing out word salad and rarely got offtrack or flustered dishing out his agenda of well spoken lies to the press and fans. Eberflus is much more likable as he struggles with the media. Painful to watch him making a fool of himself not being very skilled delivering a line of bs. Bernstein and Larry Holmes are really mocking Eberflus who will deliver a final verdict if Fields can play and possibly the #1 & #2 pick in the draft. I don't hate him like Nagy. His tenure as Bears HC will be short anyway.

Nearly all head coach hires are inexperienced. If not, they're a failed coach.

A successful head coach generally has a great quarterback. When the Bears find a great quarterback, we'll have long-term success, and our coach will likely be seen as great.
