I think that depends on if the Dolphins playbook is easier to learn than the Bears .

The Dolphins GM should be fired for making that trade.

That playbook states “do whatever you want just stay away from tyreek”.

The article I read said that Hill meant it as he was so big. But the internet took off with it and went with he takes a bunch of money while dropping things.

Tyler Scott said something similar. I think a lot of people just don't realize how much of a freak of nature he is.

No. Tyler Scott can do what he does.

take a look at his rookie year

but even accepting your argument as true, we need all the talent we can get at the position. Kmet can't carry them every week. I think Mooney can play all three WR spots

He's just a guy. There's a great chance you'll be drafting Harrison Jr. Extend Moore and let Scott do whatever Mooney does.

I don't think he will be all that expensive and he is more than just a guy. He certainly is a nice player in an WR group.

10th highest paid tight end in the league and is currently ranked 4th in production

What does Kmet have to do to merit being the 10th highest paid TE?

More than he does now.

It doesn't really matter where he ranks in terms of other TE contracts. Kmet is just a guy. He's not worth $50 million.

Colonizers!

It's funny math. NFL contracts are about guarantees. Kmet has the 5th most guarantees in the league.

He could block better, run better routes, break a tackle, and catch better. Defenses aren't game planning for him. He's been a guy that a limited quarterback has leaned on whenever he's afraid to throw the ball downfield. Outside of the red zone, he's not a threat.

One of the more annoying traits of recent Bears GM's is that they overpay for mediocre production.

Id love to be wrong and eat loads of smoke. I'm certainly not voting against anybody wearing a Bears jersey. But Kmet is a veteran at this point and if he hasn't taken giant steps forward by now I don't think he will.

Dolphin is box score hunting. Years ago, I remember arguing with FF, and maybe others, about Allen Robinson not being better than Stefon Diggs. This would be laughable today. That said, when (Pro Bowl QB) Trubisky throws nearly every pass to Allen Robinson, his numbers will look really good. The same is true for Kmet.

What do people want from Kmet though? He’s generally regarded as a good blocker and he puts up solid yardage/TD stats with a QB who’s been incapable of throwing the ball 75% of his career.

He’s a solid player and there aren’t a ton of realistic options out there that would be an upgrade. So either you pay the guy market value for what he is or you downgrade at the position.

A good blocker for what? He's an acceptable pass catching option in the red zone, but he's not a guy that defenses will game plan for. I don't want to cut him, but I wouldn't give the Allen Robinson Lite of TEs top 5 guaranteed money.
