Too bad Kenny Williams couldn't have gotten him several seasons earlier. SI.com reports that Jr. has been cut loose and will not be playing for the pale hose next season. No surprise really.
Steve, I'm not surprised that Ken Griffey, Jr. won't be back either. What was very disappointing was that Griffey's bat seemed awfully slow when he returned to the American League after many injury-riddled seasons with the Cincinnati Reds in the National League. Besides, there were two other outfielders in DeWayne Wise & Brian Anderson that I think Ozzie Guillen could've platooned in center field down the stretch. Both Wise & Anderson seemed to have range in center defensively, and it seemed like those two would've given the Sox clutch hitting & speed.
