Goff has the people who've disliked his thoughts for a decade disliking his thought. Shocking!

If you're including me in that group, you'd be wrong. I loved Goff as a talent for a long time, and in real-time during his pairing with Bernstein I thought it was Dan holding back Jason from putting on a really good sports talk show. Dan NEVER discusses college football, and Jason demonstrated an intimate knowledge of it regularly, for instance.

When they split, reading the tea leaves of Goff's comments about programming decisions had me thinking that it was Dan making the decision to do things like, say, cover the NBA Western Conference quarters for multiple segments and harp on cultural issues. Now, though, I'm questioning whether that was entirely accurate.

I loved Dan before Penn State. Outside of North, no one has done it better since I've been a sports radio consumer. "Everyone" loved Goff because he frequently poked the know-it-all rich guy. Goff also posted under his name and regularly showed up at CSFMB events. People dislike Goff now SOLELY because his political views differ from theirs. His sports opinions were always mediocre.

I guess that's the risk you run when you decide to blend your politics and sports thoughts to the point that you believe you have an undeniable mandate to label a considerable portion of the consumers of your content as backwards, corn-pone racists.

But when you listen back to the Jason Goff interacting from the booth with guys like Joe from Evanston and Mike from Milwaukee, is there any hint that race-trolling Jason Goff was the real JG? In fact as I was typing this post I went and found an interaction with "Edward [read: Joe] from Evanston" bit where Jason took Joe to task for presuming his religion because "I don't talk about that on a sports talk radio station". Just disheartening, I had real respect for his talent.

Schefter reported that the Bears were saying the X-Rays were negative, and he was scheduled for an MRI tomorrow, so the Bears were lying or their team doctors don't know how to read an X-ray and see a dislocated thumb.

I'm not speculating. This came to Jay Glazer. I wasn't clear, but I was asking how long it takes to recover from that type of injury.

I was just commenting what I saw to take the piss out of the Bears as an organization. No clue how long the injury might keep him out. Thumb seems most or near-most critical to holding/throwing over the other digits, no?

Joe from Evanston probably would have been before Bomani Jones was around for Jason to steal everything from.

It depends on the severity of the dislocation. He could conceivably play the next game, or he could end up missing a couple weeks.

Most injuries like this heal without any problems in about six weeks. You should regain movement quickly with regular exercise (within four weeks). However, it may take several months for your symptoms to settle completely. These can include pain or discomfort, stiffness, decreased strength and swelling

Never put two and two together to realize he's copping Bomani's bit, but yeah, you're right. That just sucks, but I guess what sucks most is that he's not really DOING anything with the copped bit, so he effectively threw away his cavalier, fun-loving-but-knowledgeable on-air persona to be....Julie DiCaro doing Sarah Spain? Anyway, I wonder what he's leasing now.

No chance.

Just a joke about the irrelevance of Fields’ hand health.

That would be his defensive coordinator, Jack Del Rio.

And the Bears D looks half decent ever since Alan Williams was escorted from the building

Seems that Bagent checked into the right play more often than not, he cannot help that the Bears keep trotting a LT out there would be a backup guard on most teams, or that the franchise has decided to go with a center that has a history of not being able to successfully execute shotgun snaps. If he gets another second he has Moore singled up in the end zone which likely ends up in a PI or a TD. He gets the ball out quickly, but it exposes the Bears players inability to execute routine blocks.

Come on Claw. I know it’s fun to root for the backup, but deep down you know Bagent is trash.

Did not say he was good, just said he got them into the right plays and got the ball out quickly, we celebrate that here in Chicago.

You can see the lack of arm talent which is likely why he was not drafted, he came from a college program where he played behind a line of guys that were not NFL level offensive lineman, so he is used to having to get the ball out in 2-3 seconds which will serve him well with the group the Bears will trot out there for him next week.

MRI will show soft tissue injuries, if he dislocated the joint you may see some ligament and/or tendon damage which might be worse than a break, the joint could have more laxity and be subject to subsequent dislocations, or you could have a tear of a ligament which could require surgical stabilizations.

It makes sense for Fields to take a conservative treatment route and sit out a week or two longer because he has to look at his post Bears future, there is no use in him rushing back to play on this team, letting the other QBs take the beating for the rest of the season makes the most sense for him professionally.

Can I ask the collective you, why the fuck Darrynton Evans, a guy they brought in off the street just this week, got 9 carries. You brought in Foreman presumably as Monty's replacement. He had a great camp to the point some thought he might start over Herbert. Things didn't work out that way but the guy is a 1,000 yard rusher who has shown he can carry the load of 20 carries when called upon mid season because of injury.

Then, as he is running at will on the Vikings on the last drive and churning up clock, they decide its time to let Bagent take his shot.

Ponderous, man.

I want to see Bagent a couple more weeks before I draw conclusions about his purported "lack of arm talent". The scouting reports I read after the bears signed him said his arm was above-average.

Neither can Evans. He missed a huge block I think on the play the resulted in a fumble.

It appears not only do we have a Quarterback that is "football stupid", but an entire offense that seems to be. When facing the Redskins, who did not blitz that much, the oline seemed to handle their 1 on 1 matchups ok (vs a really good defensive line) but Flores (who the Bears probably should have hired) threw a bunch of exotic looks at them and collectively they all shit themselves.

Is the majority of this team "football stupid" or is it the coaching?

There were a few plays where the running back was trying to block a DT one on one. That should never happen.
