When facing the Redskins, who did not blitz that much, the oline seemed to handle their 1 on 1 matchups ok (vs a really good defensive line) but Flores (who the Bears probably should have hired) threw a bunch of exotic looks at them and collectively they all shit themselves.

Is the majority of this team "football stupid" or is it the coaching?

There were a few plays where the running back was trying to block a DT one on one. That should never happen.

Either the first or second play of the game, bears LG and LT pulled back and ran past the center to the right, and the carry went left right into two unblocked defenders. What the hell was that?

Getsy pays ZERO attention to detail. It seems like two or three players on any given play often do the wrong thing.

I have to assume Getsy thought that was misdirection. I think he is wrong.

On the first play of the game, why doesn't Fields recognize the free rusher, turn that way and quickly unload to the WR on the top of the screen? One tackle missed and that's possibly TD. He really is football stupid. Probably his diet, he is a "VeganFan"

people always mock me when I sing the praises of Monty, but he is a back you could put in any situation

Herbert has learned to at least get in the way and Johnson is a willing blocker.

Monty still can't stay healthy, but he's looked good with the Lions.

The Vikings ran a similar play later on in the game where an unblocked rusher came free and all Cousins did was loft the ball over his head to either to tight end or the back that was in the area that the rusher came from. Every team draws up plays that leaves someone unblocked who will come at the quarterback. It’s only unfair when they do it to Justin Fields.

Why does the old guy clock the kid in the Payton jersey when he's not looking?

Hit him a couple times. Pissed him off pretty good.

Then for whatever reason Payton went back for more before he was easily knocked back down to the deck, maybe by the guy in viqueens purple?

Eberflus appears to love Bagent. I've never heard him talk about Fields the same way.

Poles has also been far more complimentary of Bagent than he has been of Fields.

There was 2 guys wide open on top, cutting inside to get that pass. Fields had no idea where he was supposed to throw to. He never does, he runs around and tries to figure it out on the fly. It's like the whole team is running plays, and he isn't even bothering to think about what was called or what the other team is doing.

He's playing YMCA ball.

Yes, it's clear he is football stupid. They should force him to play every snap until we get the first two choices of next year's draft

As he should be. Bagnet is overall better.

Even the announces knew it. They went dead quiet when fields got hit as hard as he did. It was obvious he had no idea the guy was free at all, and that's something that's easy to recognize before every play.

This is the same defensive scheme that Buffalo used to annihilate Fields in his second preseason game as a rookie. He took a devastating hit on that play because he couldn't recognize the blitz off the edge, and he still can't identify the blitz 2+ years later.

No, I didn't expect him to shit on Bagent, but he went much further than I expected. I thought I would hear something vanilla. However, when they asked him what he liked about Bagent, he rattled off about 10 things. I believe all the things he stated were traits that Fields doesn't have.

You can't coach feel for the game or instincts.

It's just weird because his instincts and vision whiles he's running are outstanding.

He's a running back that has the ability to throw, but not consistently and only if a guy is wide open, like what would be needed on a trick play.

Essentially, he's a fucking running back.

I swear that Wanny had mentioned on P & S that numbers for running qb's were down this year league wide. The league has adjusted...

Not along the sideline - he takes unnecessary shots jogging over to and along the sideline and getting steamrolled inbounds while everyone screams "that should be a penalty!". He needs to get out of bounds or slide.

A friendly reminder that in Tyson Bagent's last college football game, he threw for 165 yards and with zero TD's and 2 Int's against the Colorado School of Mines football team.

This is their starting linebacker
