Nope. I'm a Drake Maye guy.

I started watching some YouTube highlights of your guy.

I'm 10 plays in so far.

He has a great arm, but he stared down his receiver on every pass he threw.

Just not sure if Poles is the guy, his pro player evaluation skills seem to be terrible, and a huge part of next year will be doing a much better job in free agency, they will again have a ton of money and will likely move on from Whitehair and Jackson which will clear up even more space.

If you are holding the top two picks it would seem you take a shot at a QB, will he be afraid to take Willams like he was afraid to go after Jalen Carter? Willaims may refuse to play for the Bears and would bring an entitled attitude, would taking Maye make more sense, he seems like a kid that would come in and work to get better on day, but there is the problem, the Bears have proven to be consistently inept in hiring coaches that can develop young QB's.

Still think you take Maye/Willams with the top pick and look to trade back if you have the #2 pick. You can maybe pick up a top 5-7 first round pick from the Pats or Raiders and maybe another second this year and multiple future first round picks. Having an extra second is important because you have so many needs on this team that you need to have the ability to take quality guys that slip out of the first round with your early second round picks or package up a second and third/fourth to move up into the late first round.

They will have to spend tons of FA paper on DE's and DT's, the next HC will likely cut several guys that are getting significant snaps on this defense, you may see four new starters on the defensive line and definitely a veteran safety to replace the inept and disinterested Eddie Jackson, read that Brisker has an incredible QB rating in the 110's against him, he sucks in coverage, maybe a good in the box SS, but he gets exposed in coverage, looks like a bad pick given that you should have picked a center at that spot who would now be making your line calls and leading your offensive line.

Do also think that the next HC will want three new starters on the offensive line, center is obvious, but your current guard group is oft injured and pedestrian at best, also think that he will want a more consistent LT. This all could be addressed easily in FA and the draft given the over abundance of resources.

There is a ton of heavy lifting, but I do not think I want this current group is up to the challenge. My only hope is that Poles is some type of evil mastermind who has engineered a planned two year tank and will show his true cards next year.

I really think this part is being overblown. Once he officially declares for the draft, his college eligibility is gone. It's not like the Bears draft him, and then he says, "nope, I'm going back to USC". Sure, he could hold out/demand a trade, but even in that scenario, the Bears shouldn't have an issue finding a team to give them value for the pick.

If the Bears have 1 & 2 how do you say no if the Bears draft Marvin Harrison Jr? Jr and DJ Moore would be the best WR combo since dad and Reggie Wayne

I agree with the above. But the idea that Williams is definitely the top QB in the draft may itself be overblown as well.

Mully mentioned this morning that Williams has intimated he wants a piece of ownership of whatever team he signs with.

A college quarterback getting ownership of the franchise would be the best thing to happen to the team in 35 years.

Players can’t own teams, right? Didn’t we learn that through the Brady FA tour?

So Williams is unreasonable, his daddy is over-managing him and he paints his finger nails. Red flags are adding up unless this is disinformation from the Fields Protection Industry.

Not even allowed in the NFL if Bears wanted to do that.

I want Morgan Kolkmeyer to give me a sloppy blowjob, that is more likely to happen before Williams gets a piece of an NFL team as a rookie.

Make up a fake stock certificate like those rubes in Wisconsin pay hundreds of dollars for.

If Fields straightens things out and we don't need to draft someone high, I'd really like to get either Grayson Mc Call from Coastal Carolina or Pratt from Tulane into the building to see if they have pro skills. I don't know if they have it but they have that leader quality about them

There's nothing Fields can do to stay. They're going to reset the clock no matter what. He can only improve his trade value.

Edit: He may have played his last game in Chicago.

I have been mulling over this possibility myself. What have you heard that makes you think this?

His actions say he doesn't want to play another game in Chicago, that's for sure.

I haven't heard anything beyond he may be out 6 weeks or longer. IF Bagent plays well, I'm not sure how anyone could give him the job back.

You underestimate Eberflus. He'll start Fields again this season. Book it!

That is very true. I don't know whether Williams is the top qb in the draft but from what i've seen, it brings me to say that too many people make decisions on qbs after watching them operate with perfect protection and gifted receivers. I think that not often enough do when we look at what the guy does when under duress and must improvise. This may be the case about Williams.
