I think you guys are reading far more into this than the players intend.

If Kmet keeps getting shut out, he'll be begging for Fields.

In a politically correct way it was.... WR3 shouldn't have to hype up the QB1

I think he expends a lot of energy working--both during the regular season and offseason.

I just don't think he necessarily understands what it means to be a quarterback or a leader.

It definitely did. I didn't look at snap percentage but he and Lewis were both factored into the game plan

The absence of bad is better than what we have had for the past 2-1/2 years. I don’t understand why anyone would opt for bad instead. We did last year to get a better pick and then traded it away. Since I am not sure this franchise is capable of much more I will root for the absence of bad for now.

Why do we have Chicago announcers that are against winning football?

It's a mischaracterization to say what happened on Sunday is "not bad". Is making no mistakes at QB only "not bad"? The QB rating doesn't lie. And it was his first game as a rookie.

This is Bernstein gaslighting.

Why would anyone waste time listening to anything any of the hosts on WSCR have to say about football?

The current on air "talent" at WSCR is by far the worst group of football minds in the history of the station. You got more football information in one segment of "Around the NFL" on the old Heavy Fuel Crew show than you get in a week from the current lineup. Mac was the last of the on air hosts that could watch the games and give you an honest and informed take, where is Larry Horse when you need him?

If Kmet should decide to improve himself as an all around player, he could watch the old man Lewis do his job.

Never listened to either of those blokes but just looking at the both of them, I sincerely doubt either has ever played a down of football in their entire life.

Following up on our discussion from a couple days ago about Fields' poor footwork, this is a revealling and damning analysis of Fields' dropback speed...

Fields plays like someone on LSD. Like every moment after the ball is snapped he is seeing himself as a character in Madden video game, and trying to control that guy. Everything he does is 3rd person.
Badgent is a man, dude fucks in the real world.

Yeah it was clear he got ball out faster Sunday. Now would like to see him consistently throw the ball more than 5 yards.

He is basically saying that Fields is fundamentally one or more seconds behind every other QB just in getting to his drop landmarks, so he is already two or more seconds behind just getting to his primary read, and then three plus seconds behind getting to his secondary reads, explains why he takes so many sacks and why he does not seem to see wide open guys.

You heard this from a few people when he was drafted and there was a hope he could be coached up and improve fundamentally, but he has really shown to be an incredibly athletic dude that plays QB who struggles with his fundamentals and reads, and of course the biggest question is if someone can unlock him and improve his fundamentals, but after two years he has not shown much improvement and he likely never will be a consistently productive NFL QB.

You see explosive plays, but the move the chains basic reads and throws are still not there and likely never will be there, so why not trade an asset at it's highest value?

The oddest thing is that the cover 2 defense is built to stop guys like Fields, dudes that are either unable or unwilling to take the short throws the D offers and methodically move the ball down field, patiently taking short chunks and engineering long drives, guys like Fields want to play "hero ball" (LTG, 2022) which allows for easy picks as the D baits them into trying to make big plays by dropping into coverage with eyes on the QB.

Credit to LTG for using his term "Hero Ball", looking forward to reading his Bulls takes again this season under his new moniker.

No, I just chopped it out of latest BS Report podcast; the couple minutes before that excerpt where they talk shite about Jordan Love and then the Raiders and maybe 8 minutes after where Simmons' guest discusses losing Jeopardy to Mira Sorvino might be of interest to some here.

The Jordan Love/Raiders and then into Bagent talk followed by Jeopardy begins around the 1hr 28m mark. Before that it's nba talk and then Simmons bad NFL picks after.

if that story is true about how he learned the playbook that’s pretty fucking awesome. Also shows why he didn’t look like but scared lost kid out there.

 OK, I thought I recognized the voices, but I couldn't quite place them. That stuff about Bagent's preparation for training camp was great. It's obvious that team leadership has fallen in love with him--in part because of his unique "origin story"--but the underdog mythology surrounding him will ultimately have no impact on the likelihood that he will be a good starter in the NFL.

I think the kid's work ethic and intangibles have won over his teammates. The way he's run the offense helps.
