Saw NIN and QOTSA at the Allstate back in October. Very good times. Queens stole the show, and Josh Homme was drunk and telling the goth kids he was going to fuk them in the ass. Nails were pretty damned good too, though.

I'd really like to see Mastodon, but I'm actually frightened to go see that show, especially in Milwaukee........

i saw the show with QOTSA as well....

i'd rather go see the show at the rave then at the aragon. there are just as many meatheads in chicago as there are in milwaukee....but, stink, aren't you like six foot something?

I'm 6'5", and a buck-90 soaking wet. I'm built like an olive on top of a toothpick; a slightly shorter version of Brandon McCarthy. In the past I've had issues sometimes with taking hits in hockey, seeing as my center of gravity is roughly at my adam's apple. My main concern is actually that I don't have a shirt that's black enough to fit in there, and I'll get called a burrito by large hairy man

The sad thing is that I pretty much am on it already. I'm a staunch proponent of the "Vegetables are Empty Vitamins" diet, and I drink and smoke quite a bit. So far that hasn't helped. I checked on Web MD though, and my BMI is right dead center in the range I'm sposed to be in.

As much as I despise the acoustics in the United Center, there will be few opportunities left to catch Van Morrison. 4/23 at the UC.

My girlfriend's dragging me to this for our anniversary. I would have been excited to see Def Leppard...in 1987. In fact I did (Hysteria tour in the round),and it was great. 2006? Not so excited. At least I can drop $45 for 5 Heinekens. Ahh, ya gotta love capitalism.

Oh, you know it. The ? Center is a 45 minute drive down I80. I'm glad I've got pavillion seats. It's a long roll down that hill.

Have they fixed the acoustics at that place? Last show I saw there was about five years ago. I had pavilion seats and the sound was a mess. It was much better in the back on the hill.

No, they pretty much suck. For my money the best place to see a concert is Alpine Valley.

absolutely about alpine.....best place to see an outdoor show hands down.

the sound in the seats at the first midwest tweeter world music tinley park ampitheater depends on where you are and whether or not you protect your ears. i always found that most shows outdoors sound better with earplugs slightly inserted.....except at alpine.
and i disagree about the sound on the hill being better....i will not sit in the lawn there or anywhere for that matter (fatha..)

for whatever reason they haven't caught on in the US, but i think, of the "mellower" bands i listen to....well, they're the only mellower band i listen to.

yes....blur is good as well.

the first elbow album (asleep in the back) is probably still my favorite, b/c of newborn and any day now. i think the 3rd (leaders of the free world) is just as good if not better than the 2nd (a cast of thousands)....
but, really, they are all very good ALBUMS from start to finish...

I like that you accentuate the term "album". I view the album as very undervalued in defference to singles by most of the music buying public. I love albums that I can listen to straight through. And I listen to A LOT of albums straight through.

Although, a lot of that is due to not wanting to cause a car crash in changing the song every 4 minutes on my iPod, or not wanting to get up while playing NHL 2006. And it's not to say that I don't have my fair share of random singles, either.

if a collection of songs (i.e. album) is not worth listening too all the way through, then there is no point in owning the album at all.......
and i agree, not much produced in the 2000s is worth listening to all the way through......especially in the metal genre.
i can think of all of 2 discs released since april 2004 that i'm not tempted to skip songs....but, i suppose when you listen to the "best" of a genre, that is the curse.

Did anyone else here see Dane Cook at All State last night? He killed!

Can't imagine seeing a comedian in such a HUGE venue. But he was good, huh?

Yeah...It was odd seeing him at All State, but he was hilarious. I had a hard time hearing him at first, but then they ironed out the sound problems.

there's another comedian who looks very similar to dane cook but plays acoustic guitar and sings goofy songs.....anyone know who he is?
he gotta name.....
