I think what we are seeing is a kid who has shown that he has enough talent to make an NFL team's roster at least as a back-up. That in itself is a huge find for the Bear's at this point. It may be that what is happening is that other teams with talent can game plan to stop him based on his inexperience playing against good NFL defenses. People talk about the speed of the game and it is true. The next step in evaluating Bagent is to see if he can proceed in factoring in his own adjustments to the speed and caginess of the defenses and personnel he will be facing

Yep the Bagent stans can go away like the Fields stans who will be sent packing in the off season.

The only thing about Bagent is he is a developmental player. He sucks now but he is still developing quickly. You can't really expect an undrafted rookie QB to be ready to play this year.

I like to focus on how guys handle pressure. When the game mattered, Bagent repeatedly wet the bed. That doesn't generally change. Add that with his water pistol, and I just don't see anything beyond being a good backup.

That's all true. Keep in mind he struggles with Colorado School of Mines a year ago. He needs another year of drastic improvement to make it. He's probably a good option to compete with a new rookie QB next year along with Nathans nuggets.

I'd rather lose with him than Nathan Peterman.

Other rookies drafted outside of the first round have started this year with worse results. At least there are long stretches of good. You have to protect the ball as a backup.

I went from SCREAMING he was the guy in the first half to being done with the experiment by the end of the game.

Each of the interceptions was the same thing. I think he is trying to catch up with the speed of NFL CB. His arm looked plenty good in the first half. I am, of course, still a Fields guy.

Now it's time to see if Fields has reorganized his thoughts. If not, jump right back.

Bagent is 2-1 ATS.

I don't think he starts on Thursday, which makes Poles not putting him on IR a curious decision.

I have not seen a single shot of him trying to help Bagent on the sidelines.

It's a perfect game to showcase Fields. But if he isn't ready, he isn't ready. The problem is I'm pretty confident Bagent will pick apart Carolina. Foreman will have 100 yds easy.

Bagent wasn't great, but Getsy didn't do him any favors. All the successful misdirection and moving the pocket from the first half seemed to disappear.
They should have had 17 points in the first half in New Orleans. For this bum team, that is really good.
In-game adjustments from this coaching staff are still missing.

Nobody gets put in a good position with the constant penalties. Stop holding and stop jumping.

To me that was the big difference between the first and second halves. They played mistake free football as far as penalties go which did not take away the good plays . That being said, Bagent can’t throw the ball the way he did the second half. And it even looke ld like a couple of those interceptions the guy was open he just threw bad passes.

I think they are running low on IR spots to use. You only get so many yeah?

If the penalties are mentally exhausting for me, imagine what it's like for the OC and QB. Even if their names aren't Getsy and Bagent.

There was at least one shot yesterday were the two of them were looking at coverages together on the Ipads.

Everyone got over their skis on this guy. Even if he's a decent backup that's a huge win for an UDFA.

Huge. Give teams a little look at him over the next couple of years and then trade him for a 3rd if someone sees something they like or keep him as a low cost backup for 4 years

I'm still of the opinion that he's a 10 year backup in the Chase Daniel level who can play non-mop-up minutes in 2-4 games a year without drastically hurting you. But if teams can game plan against him (he seems to have a Harbaugh-esque weakness on sideline throws), he's going to struggle.

He's better than Daniel. He's more like a Fttzmagic type of guy.

I found it interesting how the broadcasting crew were singing the praises of Bagent to high heaven in the first half and the gradual back down to earth reality when he shit all over himself in the 2nd half.

I looks to me that the kid is a true gunslinger who will throw the ball in a general area when pressured and will not take a sack or throw the ball away when he should. He also appears to not be very accurate on the longer routes. I do question his arm strength on those throws.
