a bit hesitant to say the hawks can make some hay tonight - as the devils' 2 best Cs are out. 2 number #1 overall picks in hughes and hischier. hughes is a bit bigger height & weight compared to bedard and he got hurt on a typical bedard rush/move.

hoping the rookies keep going and want to see more from reichel & kurashev. hope reichel gets decent PP minutes on the 2nd PP unit. would even think of korchinski at the point on the #1 PP unit.

I'm at the Clybourn UP-NW station after a nice 1.5 mile stroll over on Chicago and up Austin...after going back to Dante's to get my wallet I left behind.

Sounds like Soderblum isn’t having a good game.

Two in a row, granted one was a PP and other was a breakaway.

talk up korchinski...and he wasn't solid on that puck at a very vulnerable spot on the blue line. thought the first nj PP goal was a bad call on murphy. ultimately, zaitsev was on the wrong side and got picked. interfered with, without the puck nor the puck being in the neighborhood.

hawks will get a PP, need to be as efficient as the devils.

Austin? As in Boulevard? That is a lovely walk from Milwaukee and Division!

Sounds like Soderblum was better in the second. I am listening to the radio.

heard a bit of nhl network on the radio and our canadian friends were happy with the 'players only' meeting. i'm not really sure what that can accomplish - the work rate is usually there, the talent isn't, and these types of meetings won't increase the talent level on the team.

2 veterans on the blue line have been spotty. jones has been poor on the PP and murphy poor overall. murphy is a turnover machine. kaiser has played well, but now, korchinski is in a bit of a funk. ok...these guys are rookies. it's to be expected.

hawks are getting better on face-offs, but the devils were missing their 2 best Cs. boyle, chelios and granato were talking about hawk puck possession in the opponent's zone. ok, much of that is cycling the puck and leads to nothing. no shot. our most talented attackers like reichel, bedard and kurashev are perimeter players, these guys don't crash the net. last night, hall and donato scored from 5 feet out. the opponents are much more lethal in the hawk zone and that goes back to attacking talent.

if you notice something special about soderblum, let me know. i haven't seen anything. hard to fault him for the devil's first 2 goals.
